More Than Just Friends[23] PART ONE Chapter 23 Okay, so I Lied. Majorly. It's not Friday, not even close. Because it's (More) Chapter 23 Okay, so I Lied. Majorly. It's not Friday, not even close. Because it's Monday. But, don't kill me! I've had writers block. And this chapter is kind of filling space; because I don't have any major ideas at the moment. I left NO cliffs from the last couple chapters. I just thought that I'd be super nice and put out a chapter today as an easter present. I promise I'll think hard tonight and come out with a chapter by... Wednesday-ish? That gives me like an entire day to write. Maybe I'll even figure out something major. Taylor (from MySpace) -- if you see this and want to help me out, please do. Message me on here or on MySpace, please! BTW -- NO SHOW THIS DAY. They're performing in Long Island tomorrow (in the story). While Joe and Kacy were on their date Nick, Kenzi, Kevin, and Deena were all on the bus. They were together in the back room and it was kind of awkward. Nick was fine with what happened that morning, he knew Deena didn't mean to piss him off, and he knew Kevin was trying to stick up for him. Kenzi wasn't talking to Deena; she was fine with Kevin though. Kenzi could never stay mad at Kevin, he was like her big brother and he always made her smile. The air was awkward and silent because of the whole "not talking to my sister thing." Deena broke the silence. Deena: Kenzi, I didn't mean anything by it. I was just, I don't know. Kenzi: Exactly, you don't know. You can't just assume that when we're sleeping together we actually slept together. Deena: I didn't. It's just that you're 15, and I thought you were moving a little... fast. Kenzi: You slept with Kevin in his bunk last night, why can't I sleep on the couch with Nick? Deena: How'd you know about that? Kenzi: I went to the fridge up front to get a drink. I saw you. So why can't I sleep on the couch with Nick? Deena: Because I'm 20, and you're only 15. Kenzi: No, you can't call seniority on this one! That's major unfairness. Deena: Fine. But I can say that I don't think it's a good idea. Kenzi: Why? Deena: Because of the way you act. Honestly, you both live by that whole "act now, think later" attitude- Kenzi: As I recall, you did too when you were 15. You and Kevin. Kevin started getting uneasy. No one knew about the whole mishap with Courtney in high school -- except Deena. He didn't tell his parents what had happened, they thought he just got the idea from church. He certainly didn't tell his brothers. He knew better than that. Deena sensed Kevin's nervousness and tried to steer the conversation away from these dangerous waters. Deena: Exactly. And you know how much trouble that got me in. School sucked that year, because I wasn't thinking about what I was doing. I just blew off all my work and hung out with Kevin. Remember how we both failed Algebra that year? Kenzi: Yeah, but what does that have to do with anything? Just because I "act now and think later" doesn't I'm just gonna bang Nick when we're making out. I wouldn't let it go to far. (Less)
