Chapter 24-
An hour later Nick and Ali were sitting in the back of Papa Jonas' BMW. Big Rob was in the front because Papa J insisted on him coming. Ali didn't mind, but it seemed to bother Nick. They were holding hands. Ali's head was resting on his shoulder. She felt awkward around Papa J, but knew she shouldn't because he had given all three of the boys permission to date them. They pulled up along the curb in front of the theater. Nick and Ali hopped out. At first they weren't getting awkward stares, but as they waited in the ticket lines, they could hear the whispers around them. They got popcorn and candy (sugar free for nick) and went to find seats. It wasn't until they reached their theater that they noticed all the people that had recognized him. There were barley any seats left. Nick and Ali got seats up by the front, where the least amount of people were.
"We sure do know how to cause a scene", Nick said.
"Don't try to blame this one on me", Ali said smiling. The lights dimmed and the credits started to roll. Nick looked around, but didn't see Big Rob, but he knew he was there. He put his arm around Ali and the rest of theater erupted in awws. It was really hard to watch the movie with cameras flashing around you. Everyone's hushed whispers made it impossible to hear the movie also. Nick felt bad for the people who actually came to watch the movie. He leaned over and whispered in Ali's ear.
"Want to sneak out and go to another movie?", Nick asked her. Ali almost died with laughter before she could answer him.
"And how do you expect to get away from this crowd. Your hair and my extreme shortness. I'm not sure it will work", Ali said. She was smiling because she knew even though it was a wasted effort her and Nick were going to try it.
"Ok, we slide down our chairs and then we will crawl across the floor. Then, we will go see another movie. I will text Big Rob", Nick said. Ali covered her mouth to keep from laughing to loud. She pictured the whole thing in her head as it came out of her mouth. They weren't watching the movie anyway, so she shrugged her shoulders. Nick and Ali started to slide out of their seats. They were glad no one sat directly behind them. They crawled across the floor to the entrance. They couldn't risk to many fans noticing, so once they got to the theater door they took off sprinting hand in hand. They walked into the first theater. They noticed that it was pretty empty. They sat down in regular seats. They were laughing really hard which made catching their breaths impossible.
"Shhhh", someone said behind them. Nick turned around and apologized which sent Ali into more laughter. She finally got control of herself. She could only imagine what the frenzy would be like it Kevin and Joe had come. She laid her head on Nick's shoulder and silently watched the movie. Nick texted Big Rob, who waited for our movie to now be done, then we headed off to his house.
"Let's go swimming", Ali said.
"Ok", Nick said. From the office Papa J called Nick's name. "In a second? I will meet you out there".
"K", Ali said. She walked into the familiar bathroom and pulled on her swimsuit. She walked outside and put her legs in the water. It was warm and comforting. She wondered what Papa J and Nick were talking about.
"We have to get to Kiss FM at 8:00. We will drop Ali on the way. You guys are meeting the winner of the Big Fan Contest, so look sharp", Papa J said. Nick nodded the whole time.
"Kevin has his car at their house", Nick said.
"He will meet us at the station", Papa J said. He told Nick that was all the news he had at the moment. Nick nodded and walked into his room. He changed into his swim trunks and tiptoed outside. He was Ali with her legs in the water. He contemplated pushing her in, but decided to jump in instead. He ran and jumped over Ali's head and splashed her with water. He resurfaced and Ali was laughing. He swam over to the wall where she was sitting.
"You going to come in?", Nick said. Ali slid herself into the pool making sure she didn't get her hair wet. They swam for awhile, but when it got to cold outside they made their way inside. They went and sat out on the couch. Ali laid her head on Nick's lap. He was running his fingers through her hair, so it wasn't long before she fell asleep. Nick moved her to his bed and laid down next to her. He fell asleep also.
