In the tradition of Pink Floyd, David Axelrod, Ennio Morricone, and Goblin comes this video trailer (More) In the tradition of Pink Floyd, David Axelrod, Ennio Morricone, and Goblin comes this video trailer for an album of ten original instrumental tracks for film. Some songs have been featured in local independent videos, and some tracks are brand new. MUSIC FOR FILMS was recorded by J.Barreto in his home studio in Gainesville, Florida. He also edited this video using clips from Dario Argento's film DEEP RED, Earth documentaries, and some original footage of his home studio. "SUN GOD" - A multipart mini-epic that begins with ambient, swirling soundscapes moves into a main theme followed by guitar solo, a keyboard death-march, and finally a tension building climax that leads right into... 2. "BIANCA'S THEME" - the most David Axelrod-esque song on the album is also the one track most similar to the funky soundtrack work of Italian film scorers Ennio Morricone and Goblin. 3. "WINTER SONG" - one of the songs used by local video makers is a catchy and calming palate cleanser featuring acoustic guitar and keyboard 4. "SUNSHINE" - an explosive stoner rock track featuring huge bass, My Bloody Valentine-esque feedback-drenched electric guitars and ghostly processed vocals 5. "BLACK ORCHID" - an acoustic number remeniscent of Tony Iommi's classical ballads on the early Black Sabbath albums 6. "EMBRYO SEQUENCE" - a pure ambient tone poem perfect for your sci-fi film 7. "MOJAVE VENTURE" - quirky drums drive this funky party track featuring organ, bass, and electric guitar. Similar songs can be found on the retro party album BUMPIN from J.Barreto 8. "3 SHADES OF BLUE" - heavily featured in Gainesville's annual "Film Fiasco" videos, this space-rock epic has elements of Pink Floyd and Spiritualized and a triumphant outro 9.
