What a treat it was to catch up with the one and only Rza, yes Robert Diggs himself aka Bobby Digital aka The Abbott aka The Zig Zag Ziggla in Toronto during Canadian Music Week 2008.
I had to question the R-Z-A about his alleged borrowing the Wu Tang W from the Wimbledon W. He was surprised to say the least.
RZA (pronounced /ˈɹɪzʌ/; born Robert Diggs, July 5, 1969) is an American music producer, rapper, and occasional actor. A prominent figure in hip hop music, he is the de facto leader of the hip hop group Wu-Tang Clan, and was also a member of Gravediggaz. He has produced almost all of Wu-Tang Clan's albums as well as many Wu-Tang solo and affiliate projects. Lately he has gained more attention for his work in films, whether it be on screen or as a composer of original film scores.
He has also released solo albums under the alter-ego Bobby Digital, which concerns himself only with the lawlessness of the male power fantasy, women, drugs, alcohol and shooting guns.
Currently RZA is working on his new Bobby Digital album, as well as the highly-anticipated sequel to Raekwon's mafioso rap classic Only Built 4 Cuban Linx.... He has also confirmed he has co-produced a track on the highly-anticipated Dr. Dre album Detox.
RZA and the rest of the Wu-Tang Clan recently released the new Wu-Tang Clan Album 8 Diagrams.
The Wu-Tang Clan is a New York-based hip-hop musical group, consisting of nine American rappers. Among its members are multi-platinum selling solo artists, multi-platinum record producers, Grammy winners, TV and film stars, screenwriters, product spokespersons, business owners and, most recently, major motion picture composers. The Clan featured nine MCs until the death of Ol' Dirty Bastard in 2004.[1]
One of the most critically and commercially successful hip hop groups of all time, Wu-Tang Clan shot to fame through their uncompromising brand of hardcore rap music. Since their debut, they have introduced or launched the careers of numerous other artists and groups, and already in 1994 there were credited to be over 300 Wu-Tang Clan affiliates,[2] known as the Wu-Tang Killa Bees, consisting of rappers, producers, and record label CEOs.[1]

Enjoy the completely UNCENSORED cut of the hot track "LA RHUMBA" from RZA aka BOBBY DIGITAL.
Digital Bullet is RZA's second album under his alias, Bobby Digital. It's no shock that he brought Bobby back; the first Digital outing, Bobby Digital in Stereo, was a high mark in the Wu Tang Clan producer's prolific career. What is a bit surprising is the sound of this effort, which frequently stretches all the way back to the mystical murk of the Clan's first album, Enter the Wu-Tang. The muffled beats and disorienting, late-night soundscapes of that hip-hop classic have been imitated countless times since its 1993 release, but nobody does 'em like the Rizza, and uneasy tracks like "Must Be Bobby" and "Domestic Violence Pt. 2" seem to bring him full circle — as does the presence of several Clan members, including the legendary ODB. Even the nods to the mainstream — "Glocko Pop" and the swaying single "La Rhumba" — seem, like RZA's best work, to have arrived from a slightly different dimension. Meanwhile, there is a storyline to this installment of the Digital story, but as on In Stereo, listeners have to use some imagination to fill it out; RZA's rhymes are often as evocative and opaque as the kung-fu flicks he loves. But as always, he creates tracks that are more about atmosphere than message — and when he's on his game, as he is here, it's hard to argue with that approach.
