It was about 8 in the morning when Kevin was shaking me awake. Except I was still sleeping. I shouted Courtney's name and once I said that, my eyes shot open. Kevin stood infront of me with so much confusion on his face. *Uhm...* He began. I looked left and right to see if anyone else heard me. Yup. Nick, Mom and Dad, Frankie, and Big Rob turned to me. I opened my mouth to say something, but nothing came out. I closed it and looked down. Kevin placed his hand on my shoulder. *Call her, you idiot* I faced Kevin as he smiled. I shook my head. *She won't want to talk to me and I'm dating Demi you bafoon!* Kevin's smile faded. He went over to everyone else as I sat in my bunk shaking my head. I shifted my head to everyone else and they all moved around like they saw and heard nothing. I slightly smiled. When I could see everyone's back turned, I scrambled through Nick's bunk and found his cell phone. Courtney changed her number and only,well basicly everyone else had it but me. I searched for courtney and smiled at my success. I pressed the green phone and it rang. Or played: All These Things I Hate by Bullet For My Valentine. I'm guessing it was about me. I shook it off and hoped Courtney would answer her phone. She did and started to giggle. "Nick, I'm in class, can I call you back?" My heart raced as I heard her voice. "Nick?" She questioned. "This isn't Nick. It's Joe." I heard the dial tone 2 seconds later. I hung my head down. I called her again. She still picked up but said nothing. *Courtney, I'm sorry.* I blurted out. She was still silent so i checked if she had hung up on me. *I can't do this now, Joe. Goodbye...* Courtney replied. As I was about to hang up, a remember hearing a deep voice in the background call her name. The dial tone filled my ear as I sat there, with a knot of envy in my stomach. Could it be possible that she has someone else in her life? I felt my face drain of blood because I really hope she doesn't. My feet hit the floor as I went to the bathroom. I splashed some cold water on my face and looked into mirror. I saw a face of disappointment, happiness, confusion, and envy. I let my head hang with my hands having a grip on the edges of the sink for a bit. I, Then, took a towel off the rack and dried my face. When I opened the bathroom door, Demi was standing right there. Arms crossed over chest with sorrow on her face. I'm dead!
{Courtney's POV}
The whole day was going good until Joe called. It felt nice to hear his voice again, just talking to me but I had to turn him down no matter how much I didn't want to. The bell rang just as I finished my sentence. I sighed but someone shouted my name. I turned to see who it was and it was a good friend of mine. I smiled getting up from my seat.
Connor: Hey.
he said, returning a smile to me.
Connor: Happy birthday, CG.
Courtney: Thank you. Kind of late, don't you think?
He chuckled and pulled me into a hug.
Connor: Too bad!
We both parted from eachother and laughed. He always helped me feel better if I was either sick as a dog or grumpy as an old person just finding out their grandchild took their dentchers(sp).
Connor: So.. How does being 18 feel?
Courtney: Uh...Same.
Connor: there has to be something...like, laws being lifted and stuff.
My mouth dropped and I playfully punched him in the arm.
Courtney: You little perv!
He smiled and we both looked at the clock. I looked at him as he did the same and I guess we talked with our eyes or something because it was as he knew what I was thinking. He waved good-bye and tapped my baseball cap down so it blinded me. I fixed it so I could see and began walking to my next class. *COURTNEYY!!!!! * I stopped in placed and laughed. Sophie. She ran up to me and shouted.
Sophie: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MY BITCH!
Courtney: Thanks, my hoe.
Again with the hugs. Oh, and the whole 'my bitch and my hoe' thing, it's like our signature handshake but with words.
Courtney: I'm going to be late, see you at lunch.
She stuck her tongue out at me.
Sophie: fineeeeee! Bye.
I shook my head and left. I was 5 minutes late. Ms. Bardwell gave me a look. I smiled and sat down. As I did, my phone went off with a 'BEEEP! BEEP!!!' I have recieved a text from someone. I pulled out my phone to check who it was from. 'Nick Jonas:): 8:14am says: I need to talk to you.' Ms. Bardwell
came over and took it away.
MB: Nick Jonas!? Are you serious?
My face turned red and I looked at the class who was trying to hold in their laughs. Thanks a lot, Nick or Joe.
