Information on Edward Aris:
Edward Aris, who was born in Istanbul in 1945 , is probably the best known active accordionist and bandinist living in Turkey today. He is known as the Professor of Accordions. He has been a member to UNAF and CMA.He has studied Bandneon together with Orhan Avsar .
In addition to groups he has formed he has worked with eminent Tango names such as Kemal Yarar, Fehmi Ege, Necdet Koyuturk, Orhan Borar, Orhan Avsar Suheyl Denizci, Engin Ege and others. Edward Aris has given many concerts in Turkey and abroad including countries such as Greece, Bulgaria, Romania,Hungary, Switzerland, Austria, Germany,France, Belgium, Holland, Italy and Spain.He has visited USA in May 1997 for 12 concerts.

Beyoğlu'ndaki meşhur Rus lokantası Rejans'ta yemekler kadar çalınan müzik de meşhur. Yaklaşık 8 yıldır burada akordeon çalan Edward Aris de artık Rejans denince ilk akla gelen isimlerden. Şimdiye kadar Zeki Müren'den Ajda Pekkan'a, Kayahan'a pek çok sanatçı ile çalışan Aris, mekanda çaldığı şarkılardan oluşturduğu "Bir Beyoğlu Klasiği: Resjans / Edward Aris ile Bir Rejans Gecesi" adlı albüm gerçekten de keyifli bir çalışma. Albümde toplam 12 parça bulunuyor. Çoğu Rus ezgilerinden oluşan albümde İngiliz ya da Brezilya ezgilerinin yanı sıra Türk ezgilerine rastlamak da mümkün. Bu albümde usta akordeoncuya piyanosuyla İbrahim Özden eşlik ediyor. Devlet sanatçısı Edward Aris akordeon denince Türkiye'de ilk akla gelen isimlerden. (Less)
