Film and golden age radio sensation Frances Langford is the star, and fortunately she sings in almost every piece. The film takes place on a Mississippi riverboat where Langford is the daughter of the skipper. While performing on board, a wide variety of musical styles are employed, like cakewalk, black spiritual, and deep-south Cajun. A fantastic cast makes Dixie Jamboree an unforgettable musical. (Less)
