Hey reality show junkies! For Get-the-Daily-dot-com, I'm Dana Ward here with your reality t-v update.
American Idol is giving back big time! We're not talking about Tuesday night's show, when 8-hopefuls perform inspirational songs. But we're actually referring to Wednesday night's show, packed with A-list celeb appearances, which is a fundraiser for several U-S and international charities. Star appearances include Mariah, Brad Pitt, Billy Crystal and Miley. Celine, Fergie, Reese, John Legend, Maroon 5 and many more. American Idol is hoping to bring in 100-million-bucks this year, as 0-7 got 76-million in donations. And of course, you know the drill for the post-benefit show. Thursday night's episode is elimination and one A-I wannabe is headed home.
And it seems an entire show is leaving home. Project Runway is taking season-6 to Lifetime television... This news comes as a shock to the original network family of Bravo and N-B-C Universal, who says the show's Weinstein Company denied them the first refusal for the show. In fact, the Weinstein Co reportedly didn't even tell Bravo and N-B-C that talks were being made with Lifetime... and on top of that, N-B-C claims that they were dealt fake negotiations. Variety says that N-B-C Universal filed a lawsuit this week in New York. As Project Runway's Heidi Klum would say: Sometimes you're in, sometimes you're out. Sorry, N-B-C. Looks like you may have to leave the runway before P-R's newest November debut.
If you're looking for the show that throws paparrazi into the reality and celebrity mix... we've got this one for you. Pop Fiction debuted just a few weeks ago, but it's still going strong. Think Punk'd for the paparazzi. From week to week, the show's producers -- including Ashton Kutcher-- meet with a celeb or two, dream-up a clever scandal and then set-up the photogs! Some past fake stories that the paparazzi went on to report as true include David Spade taking home a bride-to-be from her bachelorette party, the married Lisa Rinna going cougar-style and getting it on with a young, hot model, and the saucy Avril Lavine sporting an oh-so-pregnant baby bump. Pop Fiction is only an 8-series show, so be sure to check it out this weekend.
