Robot moves via proximity sensor when you get too close to it. It then climbs hand over hand across room on a cable, reversing directions when it gets to the end of the cable. A hanging whiskey bottle dispenses its cargo when an adjacent black ball is squeezed. A surveillance camera situated on the robot is controlled remotely at a monitor showing what the robot sees as well as this footage being exhibited on 2 monitors on the sloth. Like a big, lazy slothful beast from the 7 deadly sins , (the USA?), tempting you with its tasty yet deadly elixir.
I have thought about a robot up overhead tormenting and teasing it's audience for years. How to use height, space, head space. Like a monkey or blackbirds dive-bombing, UFO's swooping overhead, why, even, a stealthy Sloth. Funny, most of the inspirations are animals, if you include an alien as an animal.
So, this thing, overhead, somehow interacting with the audience. How? Flying, hanging, levitation, floating, swinging, hovering, falling, bouncing. A vine. I have made a chandelier swinging like a pendulum. Do you ever feel like time is hanging over your head, adding apprehension and dread to your life? Like it could just crash down and kill you at any moment? This hanging beast can push through a crowd, tempting them with libations, viewing and stalking them, shining a light on their indulgences, recording them.
Our global police state we live in. Every single day it gets worse, more ubiquitous. Accepting it for our own good. Less civil rights, less privacy, more cameras, wiretapping, a global network to know and show-it-all. Cellphone cams, a whole generation aspires to be on reality TV and is a star on their myspace/facebook sites, surrendering you privacy. A sloth spy! A sloppy slow crawling obvious stalker who lures you with ....whiskey. Its clumsiness. Maybe you won't mind being stalked if you are bribed with booze. How does man interact with a robot with personality? If you have nothing to hide what are you worried about? Your vices?
To investigate gravity, which essentially arises when matter bends space and time. Time travel research is based on bending space-time so far that time lines actually turn back on themselves to form a loop, known as a closed time-like curve. Wormholes and blackholes represent a higher state or plane. Climbing to and from one such hole to another, passages, portals, entrances. Never getting any closer, like Sisyphus doomed to climb his mountain over and over. Passing in and out of states of grace, seeking or finding enlightenment - to the next level. The monitors showing the audience, places them in the belly the portal, the hole.
A 4th dimensional loop, a paradigm shift a portal to the next level, to find yourself, to the spiritual world, to ways of seeing the world on a deeper level. (Less)
