Le trio est orignaire d'Atlanta aux États-Unis. Il est composé de Tionne Watkins (More) Le trio est orignaire d'Atlanta aux États-Unis. Il est composé de Tionne Watkins (T-Boz), Lisa Lopes (Left Eye) et Rozonda Thomas (Chili) . Leur carrière débute dès 1992 avec la sortie de "Ooooooooohhh...on the TLC tip". L'album eut un véritable succès auprès des charts. Le groupe enchaîne avec un deuxième opus Crazysexycool en 1994. Le single "Waterfalls" est une des chansons-phares de ce disque. En 1999, paraît FanMail produit par Shekspere. Les TLC sont au cœur de la gloire et sont avec les Destiny's Child les reines du R'n'B US. Left Eye, la rappeuse du groupe célèbre pour son dévouement auprès des enfants pauvres, mais également pour ses nombreux démêlés avec la justice, est celle des trois qui avait débuté le plus ce qu'on appelle une "grande carrière" étant donné qu'elle a réalisé un album solo et qu'elle a fait de nombreux featuring (Jermaine Durpi, Da brat, Missy Elliott, Mya, Tupac Shakur, Method Man, Lil jon, Sean Paul, Angela, Method man, Big Boï des Outcast, Pharrell Williams, Craig Mack, Nelly, Tangi, Craig David, Melanie Chrisolm, blaque, Lil Kim, Angie Martinez, Keith Sweat et enfin mister Donnell Jones. Mais, au printemps 2002, Lisa Lopes, décède dans un accident de voiture au Honduras. Missy Elliott et Kimberly "Lil Kim" Jones affirmeront être "en deuil pour toute leur vie" puisque les deux acolytes ont du supporté quelques années plus tôt un autre décès: celui de Aaliyah.
