It may seem unbelievable, but it seems Britney Spears is finally coming back to her senses. In a recent documentary, the singer no longer appears disturbed but reasonable and regretful Over the last few years, Britneys life has been one drama after another. A ruined marriage with Mr. Wrong, the loss of custody of her sons, hard partying, breakdowns, a spell in hospital, rehab, a shaved head, questionable love affairs and performances notable for all the wrong reasons - particularly her disastrous show at the MTV Music Awards last year.
There have been a lot of scandals, a lot of head-shaking, and not much to celebrate But now, it appears the singer is getting her life back on track. In an interview with MTV, produced by her management, which will be shown on November 30 on American television, the 26-year-old singer sounded like shes making sense - for the first time in a while! She said: I sit there and I look back. I'm a smart person, what the hell was I thinking Britney Spears wants to clear up a few things. So much has gone on over the last couple of years and there's a lot that people don't know about me that I want them to know Sometimes I think I get kind of lonely because you don't open the gate up that much, you know I mean You have to be that way, so I'm kind of stuck in this place and it's like: How do you deal? Emerging on a throne to the thumpy sound of Candy Shop, the 50-year-old singer kicked off a tightly choreographed two-hour set designed to accentuate her physical and musical. With some chunky power chords, Borderline became a Cheap Trick-style power-pop song, Vogue was mashed up with the funky brass of 4 Minutes and La Isla Bonita morphed into a Gogol Bordello-esque hoe-down featuring fiddle and accordion You know whos not invited to my party? As expected, she did permit another embattled mother to share her spotlight briefly: during a punchy Human Nature, Britney Spears paced a stalled elevator in a video. When the song reached its final refrain of Im not your bitch Spears spoke: Its Britney, bitch! and the crowd erupted. Strutting down the sets catwalk during a defiant Shes Not Me, tearing out guitar chords at the noisy conclusion of Hung Up or reinventing older hits like Like a Prayer, she made a solid argument for her continued durability as the Jumbotron showed off her sinewy arms and steely legs. (She rarely sounded winded, though she was singing live.) Unlike the Confessions tour, where her dancers and costumes stood out fantastically, Sticky & Sweet was all Madonna, all the time. It was her Candy Shop, after all, and when the lights came up after a spectacular clubland rendition of Give It 2 Me, Holiday came over the sound system, and fans danced their way to the exits. It was directed by Joseph Khan. It has his usual high tech glossy feel to the production of the video. He worked with Britney on "Stronger" and "Toxic". He also worked with Black Eyed Peas, Gwen Stefani, Janet Jackson, The Pussycat Dolls, etc. His work tends to be more visually enforced than actually telling a story to the song. His story usually entails the singer going on a journey I won't lie and say that I wasn't looking forward to this video. I also won't lie and say that I am not disappointed. As soon as I heard that Joseph Khan was involved I knew that it was going to have that high gloss look with zero substance. I am not saying that a video needs to solve world peace but seriously folks...... it's soooooo been done. There is one cool special effect in this video. I thought the clothes bit was fun to watch. I did think though that the effect vaguely reminded me of Madonna's "Frozen" video. Remember when Madonna burst into a bunch of crows? Yeah, basically the same effect with a different variable (Less)
