A 23 year old singer, who started her music studies (singing, piano and music theory) in Nigeria at the age of 17 with Bolaji OMOTAYO, and is also a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) holder in Cell Biology and Genetics from the University of Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria. She studied singing at The Musical Society of Nigeria School of Music (MUSON) with Princess Adebanke ADEMOLA. She was awarded a prize in the MUSON school graded exams as highest scorer in Grade 8 Singing. She also holds a diploma in singing performance from the 'Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). She was engaged for several years as a choir member with the MUSON choir performing 'The Ode for St. Cecilia's Day' by G.F HANDEL in 2003, 'Ode to Joy (Symphony No. 9, Op. 125 'Choral') by BEETHOVEN in 2003. She was also an active soloist at MUSON and around Nigeria. She has had live broadcast performances and interviews with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). She took the soprano solo roles in 'The Messiah' by G.F HANDEL in 2004, as well as the role of Susanna in an extract of 'The Marriage of Figaro' by MOZART in 2004. She was granted a full French Government scholarship in 2005 to continue her studies at the Centre d'Etudes Superieur de Musique et de Danse in Toulouse (CESMD) under Anne FONDEVILLE-BLEUSE and Robert GONELLA. She performed the complete motet 'Exsultate, Jubilate' by MOZART with the Toulouse Conservatoire Chamber Orchestra in February 2006, directed by Marc BLEUSE, and with great success, a review in one of the national French newspapers, 'La Depêche', (commending her as a young, very promising talent) and a slot on a television news broadcast. She also played the role of 'Barbarina' in a production of 'Le Nozze di Figaro' that same year by the vocal department of the Toulouse Conservatoire. She was awarded the 'Junior Prize' at the 'Opera les Azuriales' Competition in August 2006, as the youngest, most promising singer. This was followed by a review in the classical magazine 'Opera Now', and, in January 2007, she was invited by Vernon Ellis (Director of the English National Opera) to a concert in London. She interpreted the role of Micaela in Bizet..s "Carmen" at the first edition of the OPERABUJA music festival, at Abuja, Nigeria, in November 2007 with a lot of success. She studied at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, where she qualified for the 'Diplôme d'Execution' with a unanimous vote from the jury, and is continuing her studies at the Conservatoire Nationale Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP) with Peggy BOUVERET. She has benefited from master-classes by Jorge CHAMINE, Valerie FLORAC (2004), Natale LEWINGTON (2005), Gabriel BACQUIER, Jean-Paul FOUCHECOURT, Linda HIRST (Trinity College of Music, London) Robin BOWMAN (Guildhall School of Music, London), Françoise POLLET (Conservatoire Nationale de Lyon) and Lorraine NUBAR (Julliard School of Music, New York) (2006).
