Lost and Found (Music Video - Still Shots) A simple, somewhat obscure song (or so I've been told). It was not driven by these pictures, (More) A simple, somewhat obscure song (or so I've been told). It was not driven by these pictures, they came later merely because nobody comes to a YouTube intending to watch 5 minutes of black screen. Actually, most of the words are autobiographical in some way, but that doesn't mean you can't be seen in them as well. In a way, I believe we're all seen in them... but that's the point. Lyrics below. Hope you enjoy. Lost and Found a little pink hat a lone glove a confused little girl and a bitter love a broken heart a broken mirror the one who can't listen but can certainly hear the one who must touch the one who must feel the one who must hold it in her hands to believe it's real the one who can see but only with his eyes the one who has all the information that he needs but just can't be considered wise we are all lost lost and found a corduroy purse without cash or i.d. the one who acts but can never just "be" a yellow coat that you'd wear in the rain the mask we all wear to hide all the pain a bright, shiny cell phone with a dead battery the one who can't speak face to face sitting next to some keys a broken record an old cassette those of us who spit out and repeat anything we want with no regrets we are all lost lost and found you and i... we are the lost silver coin we are the one who ran away our foundation is of rock and sand we are the one who stayed we're the ones who fight for peace we're the ones who fight for war and in the end it's the very same thing we're fighting for we're the ones who hate the world but, we're the ones who want it all and in the end the further down we fall it's all the stuff we really don't need the man who fills his pride with his greed the woman who gets but seldom gives the man who is dying even while he lives the one who works just to get ahead then has the nerve to thank the Lord for his daily bread a roll of scotch tape a swiss army knife the one who cuts out every part, every piece, every word of the story she doesn't like some child's toy a red bouncy ball sitting next to the old woman with no childhood at all a gray knitted scarf a random black bow tie sitting next to the drunk on the street and the man who walks on by a son who can't forgive a daughter who hates a parent who wants to do it all but just cannot relate a five dollar watch an orthodox priest (1 Peter 2) the one who humbly eats the crumbs of the one who takes his place at the head of the feast we are all lost some are lost and found... Eli, The Barrowboy The 3th from Picaresque Eli, the barrow boy Of the old town Sells coal and marigolds And he cries (More) The 3th from Picaresque Eli, the barrow boy Of the old town Sells coal and marigolds And he cries out All down the day Below the tamaracks She is crying: "Corn cobs and candle wax for the buying" All down the day "Would I could afford to buy my love a fine robe Made of gold and silk Arabian thread But she is dead and gone and lying in a pine grove And I must push my barrow all the day And I must push my barrow all the day" Eli, the barrow boy When they found him Dressed all in corduroy He had drowned in The river down the way They laid his body down in a church yard But still when the moon is out With his push cart He calls down the day "Would I could afford to buy my love a fine gown Made of gold and silk Arabian thread But I am dead and gone and lying in a church ground And still I push my barrow all the day Still I push my barrow all the day" (Less)
