Dead Rising Perfect Run 7-2: Showtime
7-2: For the sake of full disclosure, this is not a continuous film with 7-1. I do the same things, (More) 7-2: For the sake of full disclosure, this is not a continuous film with 7-1. I do the same things, for the most part, but an unreadable disc error smacked me down on the way into the movie theater. I mention this because I figure somebody will notice I suddenly have another handgun. Here's the deal: I need to get six survivors back to the security room on this run, and Gil is the only other one that's available. Getting six now means I can get eight later and finish out the run all at once, just in time to end "Last Resort." It also means that my next group only has one handicapped person (Susan Walsh) instead of two. The advantage, dubious though it may be, to bringing Gil back to the movie theater with me is that I can use him as a get-out-of-jail-free card against the zombies and cultists in Paradise Plaza. As you can see from this run, the only way a zombie can bother me while I have Gil up on Frank's shoulder is if they go for one of their low priority swats... which none of them do until I'm safely inside the movie theater. The cultists are all heavily sedated, so I can be past them and into the theater before they get out of their ominous walking phase. I drop Gil in the theater's gift shop for two reasons. One is that the theater doesn't fill up with zombies until after I fight Sean, so Gil's about as safe as he's ever going to get. A healthy survivor would run back to Frank's side during the fight with Sean, and thus right into the post-fight crowd of cultists; Gil, on the other hand, will barely be out of the lobby by the time I beat Sean. The other reason is that if I leave a survivor outside the theater doors while I fight Sean, I'll either have to go let him into the theater during the fight (ouch) or the survivor will get carved into kielbasa by the mob of cultists that appears after Sean's death (oops). I use the SMG to take out the cultist horde in the theater mostly because they've started to become very fond of their sleeping dust. If they hit me with that, there's virtually no way for me to get back to the movie theater in time to save Gil, and I'll lose enough time to make the entire run impossible. Sean, by comparison, is easy. He's a little crankier this time out than he usually is, and opens up his bag of tricks on me without much warning. Note that unlike most of the other psychopaths I've fought, Sean doesn't seem to notice when I hit him with the chainsaw. This is what makes him dangerous. I still manage to beat him faster this way than I would've by doing just about anything else, such as playing grab-ass with a shotgun and the theater seats, but it's bloody. It also goes down harder this time out of the box than it usually does; I can often drop Sean in a few seconds with no risk to me, but he's feeling his oats this time. (Less)
