Shirley Bassey If You Don't Understand Shirley Bassey singing If You Don't Understand for German tv. If You Don't Understand (More) Shirley Bassey singing If You Don't Understand for German tv. If You Don't Understand Music written by Toto Cotugno. English lyrics by Norman Newell. Released in 1984 on a single and on the album I Am What I Am. Though the rest of the album was recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra and the CD inlay does not state anything different for this song, this is not from the same recording session. It was probably not recorded with the LSO - you can hear that if you compare the other songs' orchestral accompaniment with the backing of this song. A fact that supports this idea is that this song was not on the LP version of the I Am What I Am album. In 1985 a Towerbell maxi-single was released with a "Special Dance Mix" of If You Don't Understand re-mixed by Robert Levy-Provençal (length 7:11). In1986 another Towerbell maxi-single was released of this song with "To All The Men I've Loved Before". As a child, the composer Toto Cutugno (born 1943 in Italy as Salvatore Cutugno) joined a local music band as drummer, played accordion and by the age of 13 he already received third place in a local music contest. In the 1960's he formed a band called "Toto e i Tati" for which he wrote many songs himself. After that he was in a band "Albatros" until starting his solo career in 1978. As he became more famous he also wrote for Adriano Celentano, and for many other Italian artists, but also international artists like Ray Charles, Shirley Bassey and many more. He won at many music festivals, for example the Festival of Sanremo with "Solo noi" 1980. He writes catchy Europop like this song Insieme. Lyrics He can be the biggest heel that human nature has invented But I'd never change him if I could And whenever he's away from me I nearly go demented I'd leave him if I could He's the face upon the pillow That I always want to turn to But I never know how long he'll stay You may ask me why I choose to live this way Well, I'm a womanIf you don't understand You've never known a love that was real You've never known the way that I feel Each time he leaves me If You don't understand You've never known impossible dreams You've never known the hell that it means to be Missing him Wanting himHe can take me to the moon each time he puts his arms around me Only he can take the moon away And if I regret the day this wayward lover ever found me I'd be to proud to say He can smile and I surrender But I couldn't live without him He's the loosing game I always play You may ask me why I choose to live this way Well, I'm a woman If you don't understand You've never known a love that was real You've never known the way that I feel Each time he leaves me If You don't understand You've never known impossible dreams You've never known the hell that it means to be Missing him Wanting himIf you don't understand You've never known a love that was real You've never known the way that I feel Each time he leaves me If You don't understand You've never known impossible dreams You've never known the hell that it means to be Missing him...Wanting him (Transcribed by Roman. J - Death by Scientology One would think that a worldwide organisation that is responsible for numerous deaths would be shut (More) One would think that a worldwide organisation that is responsible for numerous deaths would be shut down, yet Scientology remains above the law through its religious façade.
Through numerous acts of neglect, withholding of medication and murder, both direct and indirect, Scientology is to blame for the deaths of numerous people, both its own members and members of the public. While I cannot know all of their names, I will mention the most publicised cases, no doubt Scientology has covered up many of the lesser known ones.
First, is Lisa McPherson.
On December 15th, 1996, she told her family that she was ready to leave the church. 3 days later, after a minor car crash, she strips her clothes and walks naked down the street. After being taken to the Psychiatric ward of a local hospital, "friends" from the cult appear and take her to one of their churches to be cured "the scientologist way".
17 days later, she was dropped off at a hospital over 20 miles away, dead. The autopsy concluded that she died of a blood clot, formed by severe dehydration amongst other factors. Evidence indicated McPherson had been without fluids for 5-10 days, and was camatose for the last 24 hoursof her life. Her body was covered in bites from cockroaches.
McPherson's last days were spent in direct violatio to numerous articles of the Universal Decleration of Human Rights, most notably article 9: No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention or exile. McPherson was detained to prevent her from seeking psychiatric help. Her death was pointless but for the sake of the arbitrary rules of scientology's demented founder, L. Ron Hubbard.
Herebit Pfaff was epileptic. Rather than be treated with medication, a scientologist doctor prescribed vitamins. He died on August 28th 1988 after a heavy seizure caused him to fall and hit his head off a table during his fall. No medication was found in his blood.
On February 25th, 1980, Joseph Haveth was found dead in a bathtub at the fort harrison hotel scintology center, the water so scolding his corpse's skin was peeling off. While one would assume he drowned, it was noted his head was above the water.
Perhaps most shocking of all was the death of Uwe Stuchenbroch, a man with multiple sclerosis. The former international security chief of scientology, Stuchenbroch was prescribed no treatment for his illness, instead being promised cure through spiritual advancement. As no cure for him came, he attempted to escape the cult, only to be demoted to the Rehabillitation Force Los Angeles, essentially a slave labour camp for members that required brainwashing or those that could leak scientology secrets by leaving. He died here, his health deteriorated to the point he couldn't use the toilet by himself.
While these are only a handful of people, they are not the only ones to suffer at Scientology's hand. These are just those that illustrate the point of Scientology best. Their deaths highlight the evils that this buisness creates. Religion is Free. Religion does not kill its members. Religion does not detain its members, nor violate their human rights.
Through their sacrifice, these people will be remembered as those that helped us realise this injustice before it was too late. One way or another, Scientology, the mass con buisness that hides behind the claim that they are a religion, will be stopped.
