After a while, you might notice it veers from Valentineshipping to Jun trying to keep a friendship with Judai (and fails); it's because I wanted a story at the end that let me develop a bit more of Manjoume in this weird universe I created 0.o (which is more development than the dub could do) Yes, Jun is not a jerk; he values his friendship with Judai over anything else. (Breyton, Brachel from One Tree Hill)

Story: -warnings: long, angsty, AU-
Jun really likes Asuka but he goes about it really childishly so she lets him down as kindly as she can, but it still crushes him. After one more attempt at her, Asuka decides to give him a chance. On the way to meet up with her Jun gets corrupted by Hikari no Kessha, unintentionally standing her up and making Asuka thinks his efforts were just a joke to humiliate her. He corrupts her too, reasoning that it's punishment for not returning his feelings. While in HnK, Asuka is concerned for Jun, but he doesn't know why he doesn't reciprocate now. When Judai frees Jun from HnK, he sees what Asuka is now and doesn't like it. His feelings for her return.
Then he gets a flashback that he was the one that turned Asuka into what she is, inspiring Ryo to punch him. (for continuity sakes, HnK was taken out of Obviate, but Ryo still punched Jun out for HnK reasons)
Feeling worthless and knowing he deserved the punch, he tries to make up for it to Judai and Ryo by bringing Asuka back. When he succeeds, he realizes that he did it to prove himself to Judai and Ryo more than to save Asuka. But when Asuka is back to herself, it turns out that him (unintentionally) standing her up and corrupting her into Hikari no Kessha pushed her away, straight into Judai's arms (which Judai accepts as a favor). Jun grows out of his feelings, accepting that it was just a childish infatuation. Jun is then one of the three who witnesses Ryo fall fataly enough to die. Not knowing what to do with this information, Jun tries keeping it from Judai, but remembering that the brunette was his only real friend, he begins to say something (also because since Judai was his only friend, he didn't want any secrets between them). He also remembers that Judai and Ryo were good friends and Judai might get mad so he hesitates again. But since the brunette knows when Jun's being secretive, he threatens and yells it out of Jun. The dark Obelisk tells him hesitantly. Wanting to confirm the truth, Judai races to the hospital with a hesitant and fearful Jun tagging along. They are both surprised to find a motionless Ryo. Realizing that Ryo really is dead, Judai lets Haou and Yubel's anger in him come out. He blames Jun for his idolized Kaiser's death (reasoning that Ryo loved Asuka and was heartbroken that Jun drove Asuka into both Hikari no Kessha and Judai's own arms). Jun knows what Judai's about to do, objects, but Judai still punches him out, much harder than Ryo ever did.
More [LONG] angst! A bit OOC for Judai, but I think it's so much fun to make him out to be the bad guy with good morals. (Just for clarification: Jun did push Asuka into Judai's arms, and Asuka thinks Judai loves her but the brunette knew Ryo liked her, and since he had no romantic feelings to give her, is only in the relationship for Asuka to be happy, knowing Ryo would've wanted her happy. But she doesn't know Judai's not in love with her. I watch too many soap operas, don't worry)
But I needed that ending there; I would have just plain stopped with any other videos if I could not have that ending. Character development!

Plot: Ryo really likes Asuka but Jun's massive crush on her, Asuka's feelings for Judai and Ryo's own heart condition prevent him from being with her until it's too late.
Subplot: Asuka's feelings for Judai become more and more apparent to Ryo and the Osiris so Judai does her a small favor and Ryo rues the moment it comes
Viewpoint: Ryo's
Warnings: Angst...and some morbidness.
Story:
During Asuka's first year at DA and Ryo's last, he realizes he has feelings for her, though he was supposed to be a close friend. Thus the only act he takes upon his feelings is punching Manjoume for his attempts at her. She is unaware of why Ryo hit Manjoume, and assumes it was because Ryo found Manjoume annoying (Zane in the dub said "Anybody up for just tackling him?" ...that should say enough)
After Ryo's electrodes scare after his graduation, he is more aggressive on how he deals with his actions with his feelings. He has a short heart attack, landing him in the hospital. But he decides to sneak off while Asuka is out when he thinks Asuka broke her promise of them being together (which she never did promise) so causes Judai to fall off a building when he sees how much Asuka likes the brunette.
He injures himself in the process and winds up in a wheelchair for a while. Remembering how he died the previous year, he wonders what he has turned into, hurting others for Asuka in such a way. He has another minor heart attack while trying to walk but that leads to a stronger heart attack, getting him back into the hospital. Though he is content that Asuka is at his bedside, she gets a call from an injured Judai (who survived the fall and who Ryo completely forgot about) so she forgets about Ryo and rushes to Judai's aid. Ryo watches her go and his heart weakens until he dies, coughing Asuka's name, unaware of what happened with Judai and Asuka.
And the last scene can be interpreted as Ryo smilling that Asuka is happy. Depends on your view... That was really long... whoever reads it gets a virtual cookie xD
Not sure if it all fits, but that's what I got. Kinda too angsty for me, really... but I supposed it fit? But if you guys have any other ideas, feel free to use them or tell me; I'd love to hear them :D
