We booked this resort at $49 per person (thru cozumelcruiseexcursions.com) After a $15 taxi ride, we arrived at Nachi and were greeted by a warm and friendly smile. We were immediately whisked away to our lounge chairs under a palapa and our drink orders were taken.
Nachi is everything you imagine a Caribbean beach should be: gorgeous white sand, crystal-clear blue water, hammocks swinging in the shade of palm trees, a warm and clean pool and Jacuzzi with a swim-up bar...it is quite simply paradise. Our server, Manuel, was extremely attentive and accommodating. I lost count of the number of Margaritas and Rum Runners he brought us that day, but let's just say we definitely got our money's worth.
Also included in the $49/person price is the food. You can order up to three items from their menu, per person, but my hubby and I could only manage to eat three items between the two of us. After chowing down on nachos, fajitas (which were extremely delicious) and quesadillas, there was simply no room for any more food. I regret not ordering the tortilla soup, but I literally could not eat another bite.
After roughly four and a half hours, we had to force ourselves to leave. We would have preferred to establish permanent residence, but eventually out family would have tracked us down. So, we tipped Manuel $20 for his service, ordered two drinks to go, and found a taxi cab waiting to take us back to the pier. (Less)
Drive Through London - July 2007 Imagine you've just arrived in London for the first time from an airport or railway station, (More) Imagine you've just arrived in London for the first time from an airport or railway station, and you're taking a taxi ride. What would you see? You would be absorbing the sights of the buildings, people, shops, other vehicles, signs, advert hoardings, driving on the left, and more. When you see a city for the first time like this, it's an intense sensory experience which I hope I have been able to recreate in this episode. This episode takes you through two districts close to the centre of London: Brixton and Victoria. The camera is set up on the dashboard and sees everything I see in front of me as I drive the car through the heart of these places. Technical note: You will notice that this episode has two black bands at the top and bottom of the picture. I positioned the video as a narrower strip than the standard widescreen format because at the bottom of the original video footage is a close-up of the windscreen wiper! Since this does not contribute to the scene it would only take up the attention of the video compressor and soften the more useful parts of the picture. Lowering the picture and taking out the windscreen wiper using black bands means that much less data is absorbed here and the moving images are sharper. (Less)
