Equipment: Canon XH-A1 FCP6 8-Point Garbage Matte Desired Result: When you're shooting (for (More) Equipment: Canon XH-A1 FCP6 8-Point Garbage Matte Desired Result: When you're shooting (for example) a building backed by bright sun light it's difficult to correctly expose the building and sky detail together. Workflow: I shot 2 duplicate images, one with the building correctly exposed (sky overexposed) and one with the sky correctly exposed (building underexposed). Then, in FCP, using the 8-Point Garbage Matte, I constructed the Matte filter to black-out the sky detail on the building-exposed footage. Then i placed the sky-exposed footage on top and mixed with with the building-exposed footage until you could see both sky and building correctly (more or less) exposed. (Less)
