"TORTURE" As time moves swiftly on and on...a constant river of moments is always (More) "TORTURE" As time moves swiftly on and on...a constant river of moments is always invading the space in between....yes even seconds bring back vivid recollections of brief thoughts of clarity as they going rushing by. A brief glimpse into a future that is continuing to become more bizarre then a Terry Gilliam film. Could this really be the inevitable outcome of a prophecy fulfilled that was written about long ago in George Orwell's '1984'?....and are you really that 'taken aback'...are you really that overwhelmed with surprise...The history of man is unfortunately riddled with war and murder. Dominated by men (and women) who cannot stop this disease of greed and power that overtakes them to such a point of corruption, that the only thing left to satisfy their insatiable desire of lust and power is to fucking "rule the world".... __________________________ Torture Now here's yet another issue in which our glorious leaders cannot but help but feed themselves the 5-course meal of sticking there feet in their mouths. The ability to lie is an art in and of itself....and it is obvious that are boys in the white house are fucking horrible liars.... Can you imagine playing poker with Rumsfeld or Gonzalez...(I'm assuming President Bush isn't aware of the game as of yet). Fucking liars...lie after lie after lie....and 'most' of us...are well aware that there lying to us every night and everyday....and the fact that we can't do anything about it is really starting to hit home with me. It's kinda like having an argument with a guy who has the guns and the money, even if I prove my point....He's the one who makes the rules....and breaks his rules ______________________ I wanted to share an article I've recently read. His words are more to the point. Bush's torture ban is full of loopholes The president has issued an executive order to stop the CIA from using torture, but the ban is unenforceable. By David Cole A shackled detainee being taken to the detention center at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, Dec. 6, 2006 Once upon a time, a U.S. official's condemnation of torture was a statement of moral principle. Today, it is an opportunity for obfuscation. We have learned that when President Bush says, "We don't torture," it's important to read the fine print. So it was once again on July 20, when Bush issued a long-awaited executive order purporting to regulate interrogation tactics used by the CIA in the "war on terror." According to a White House press release, the order provides "clear rules" to implement the Geneva Conventions governing treatment of detainees in wartime -- rules the administration insisted did not even apply to the "war on terror" until the Supreme Court ruled otherwise last summer. But while the new rules reflect a significant retreat by the administration from its initial torture policies, they are anything but "clear," come far too late in the day, and in any event are unenforceable. The executive order prohibits the CIA from using torture and cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment, sexual abuse, denigration of religion and serious "acts of violence" in its interrogations. While one might have thought that the impermissibility of such tactics in official U.S. interrogations would go without saying, it has not been so since 9/11. This is an administration that narrowly defined "torture" to permit the use of sexual abuse, stress positions, injecting suspects with intravenous fluids until they urinate on themselves, prolonged sleep deprivation, exposure to extreme heat and cold and "waterboarding," i.e., simulated drowning. This is an administration that adopted as official legal policy the counterintuitive and deeply immoral position that international law's ban on "cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment" did not apply to foreigners held by the U.S. outside U.S. borders. And this is an administration that opined that the president could order torture itself if he so chose as a way of "engaging the enemy," notwithstanding a federal criminal statute and ratified treaty banning torture under all circumstances, including war. __________________________________________ Be informed! Truth about real estate forclosures
See how the banks are manipulating the foreclosure market. You can use this information to buy (More) See how the banks are manipulating the foreclosure market. You can use this information to buy foreclosures by timing your purchase. May 23, 2008. The existing home sales came out today with an average loss of $1500 per month for the median US Home price over the last year. Most people have no conception how this is impacting their lives. If you had $200,000 in equity last year, you just lost 7% of your equity. In California, it was probably more. If you had sold your house last year and moved into a rental, you would have zero cost for living in the rental. If you had moved into 2 specific real estate purchases, you could have increased your capital and retained your mortgage deduction. You would actually be further ahead. Losses in home equity will accelerate for the next year. If you become underwater in your present equity, you could be stuck in your present property for many years or have to come up with substantial separation money to preserve your credit rating. The foreclosure bailout proposed by the congress is just window dressing in order to forestall a panic. What is going to happen is that this will only delay the panic, not forestall it. If you read the fine print, the lender has to agree to provisions of the bill. How likely is that? What you see happening in the market today is that 25% of the sales are due to sale of foreclosed homes. Because of the banks holding back inventory, there are at least 4 bids for every sale. This will change shortly. The subprime loans that are supposed to reset this summer, means that the house are really going to be back on the market by June 2009. The logic goes like this. The notice of reset for August 2008 have already gone out. In August , the owner of the subprime loan is going to do his/her best to make the payments. He will get a 2 or 3 job in some cases. Maybe his wife will too. In any case, the owner uses up his savings and cannot make the payments. This takes 2 months, on average. The owner realizes it is impossible to continue and finally stops making the payment. His savings are exhausted, and now he has to acquire money to be able to move.He needs the mortgage payment to restore his savings, so he can move. Minimum average move is going to cost $5000 or more. The lender now starts the foreclosure process. Sometimes the lender takes more than 6 months to prosecute the foreclosure. Then there is another month or 2 in which to prepare the property for sale. So, let's see how this all adds up. 2 + 6 + 2 = 10. 10 months from August 2008 is June 2009. So the majority of the resets will not even hit the market until June 2009. And the average length of time to sell this property will be 11 months, if not longer. So the minimum time for the market to hit the bottom will be after May 2010. The average price decline, here in California, will be more than $2000 per month. If you invest in property today, you will lose almost all of your equity. What no says today, is that the property that has an equity line of credit will also reset to a higher interest rate once the property falls below 110% of the initial loan amount. This is a huge overhang to the market, and could make these loans now subject to default.Who knows where this will end? Based on this scenario, what is the best way to make money in real estate today? Sell any real estate that you have, even into today's declining market. Then wait for the turn in the market to buy back, better than ever. That time is more than 2 years away. (Less)
