It's an unexpected result. In general I expected the games to be grand [longer]. I imagined a scenario where we would go until the 5th set. -There was a rematch. [Game 1 had to be restarted after some technical problem] ▶In the rematch of Game 1 I opted for a different build [than what I had originally planned]. Luck seems to have been on my side when I was able to win the game with my changed build. -After 872 days you again advanced to the MSL semifinals. ▶Since I had to eliminate my teammate July, I couldn't feel very excited. If I had defeated a different player, I could have made a ceremony. Before the match, we made the promise that whoever would advance, would also take the championship. The fact that I only advanced [to the semis] after 6 seasons, doesn't really matter to me. While preparing I didn't have time to reminisce about past seasons. I only know that I want to accomplish something this season. Because of this will, I was able to advance to the semifinals. -How did you practice? ▶I took Coach Lee Hyo Min's seat and practiced there. [I guess he couldn't use his usual place, because July would have been sitting close to him]. I didn't practice with my teammates but with players from other teams. In addition to CJ's Kwanro[saM] and hOyA, I reveiced help from Junwi_[saM], Clon, Sea.FireFist and others. It helped me a lot so I would like to use this chance to thank them. -You're setting a record for straight wins. [GoRush is 7-0] ▶I am not very conscious about that winning streak. My fans are cheering for me and I made the promise to not make my fans feel ashamed for being a fan of GoRush, so I try hard to keep this promise. Especially for my fanclub staff, who told me they once would like to prepare [banners etc.] for a final, I am doing my best to fulfill that wish. -Your early game strategy was outstanding. ▶In the maps, including Python, our builds happened not to correspond to each other. I gambled, and luck was on my side. Keeping the big picture in mind, I focused on the mind-battle and chose my build accordingly. -Who do you want to face [in the semis]? ▶I don't care if it is Bisu or Hwasin. There is no Zerg among the remaining players [who I could face in the semis], so I will only think about Terran or Protoss. Both of the players have recently improved day by day. Bisu is the titleholder, isn't he? In contrast to ZvT there indeed are some difficult ZvP maps. I'm confident enough to face any of the two. I gained a lot of confidence against Terran recently, so now I actually feel more comfortable vs Terran than vs Protoss. -What did you talk about with July after the match? ▶We talked a lot about the games. I asked if he changed his build after the restarted match, I thought he had changed it. We talked a lot about the strategies and builds. -Did you see the sign "5 minutes for settings" written on a note by a fan? [GoRush always needs a lot of time to adjust his settings before a match] ▶MBC Game said that there would be enough broadcasting time so they asked me if it would be ok to do the settings after the broadcast [I think he means the the commercial break -- sentence was kind of weird to me]. It's not like you can start the game right after you take your seat. The fans put up that "5 minutes for settings" sign, but I wasn't overly concerned. I think it is more important to show the fans a win with a perfect game [rather than starting the game as fast as possible]. (Less)
