The Hellraiser Chronicles: A Question of Faith - Trailer This is the trailer for the short film made in 2003, which pre-dated Gary Tunnicliffe's NO MORE (More) This is the trailer for the short film made in 2003, which pre-dated Gary Tunnicliffe's NO MORE SOULS by one year and is as such the first HELLRAISER short. Some information about the film, if you've not already heard of it, and I'll set the record here straight. Ignore anything you read elsewhere on the net, I made the film, and this is what it really is:- 2000: Third Circle Films begin to develop an idea for a Hellrasier Television series. We have a very well developed anthology concept, inspired by the Epic Comics. 13 treatments, all within the HR universe, and with 'subtle hints' that, for the more observant viewer, will be a puzzle that gradually assembles throughout the series. Now this is a spec series submission, not one made by Miramax/Dimension. Due to other commitments, it takes until 2003 to shoot a PROMO. I stress, a PROMO, for studio execs to see. A professional film for studio pitching use, along with the production package. Not a pilot (different thing alltogether), and not a fan film either. The project is kept fairly quiet (to avoid pitching competiton), but somebody somehow finds out about it and decides to spread it across every horror website he can find. But he's got the info wrong. He says it's an animated series. Suddenly the compeitir we were trying to avoid appears, just as expected, and a war is on for the series. However, there is trouble afoot at Disney/Miramax/Dimension/Weinstein, and the company/ies split, fracturing the HELLRAISER copyright. So it's all off, finito, kaput. End of story. Now, the film had been garnering a lot of internet attention at this point. All of it wrong, I may add. It was only a promo. I contact a couple of sites reporting a lot of nonsense, but they decide to ignore me and go with the speculation instead. In time it dies down. Fast forward a few months, and the we make the film available via festivals and it starts getting discussed again. Only now it has apparently become a 'fan film'. I try to correct this, but give up. So here it is, a pro TV series promo, or a fan film? Make up your own mind. HELLRAISER as we know it is dead and gone. Dimension destroyed the series (Did you see 'Hellworld?'), but 'A Question of Faith' kick-started the now quite productive series of fan films that are surfacing on an increasing basis.
