TechCrunch is calling (More) It's called Wolfram Alpha and it's the biggest buzz of the weekend. TechCrunch is calling it the next big thing and will be bigger and better than Google was to the internet. Others are saying the man behind this "computational knowledge engine" is pure genius and others are wondering what the heck the Wolfram Alpha is. Well, the Moxie Mo Show tells you what it is and why this could be huge. Imagine asking a factual question to a "search engine" and getting a computation (aka result) versus getting just a ton of websites with matching keywords (ie Google, Yahoo, Ask.com). Mr. Wolfram has developed an engine that literally computes your question to a real answer and experts say this will change the internet as we know it. Read much more about this at TechCrunch... Also, Windows 7 will hopefully be launching later this year and testers are reporting that they're able to remove Microsoft software from the OS (which has never happened before) - you won't believe what Microsoft is allowing you to remove from this beautiful and powerful new OS - we have all the details. Finally, Andrew Russell is the winner of my comments contest and he will receive something moxie from my bag of schwag that I won from Geekbrief.tv! Woo hoo! Thanks Andrew! The original name of this site was "Free Traffic Tips". Sometimes there was a free tip about how to get free traffic, sometimes the traffic tip itself was free but the traffic wasn't, and then there were the times when the tip wasn't free, because of the time and research it took for me to put the information together. But if you were able to understand the traffic method, you'd have yet another source of free traffic forever.
In between all that, we'd have news about Yahoo, Google, and anything that had to do with getting free traffic from search engines.
Some things changed, but the main thrust of this site remains the same - I still do an on-going series called Free Traffic Methods, where I ask you what you want to learn about, and do series on each of the dozens of basic levels for finding free traffic online. If you're here trying to get free traffic to your site, start there are you'll find links to hundreds of pages of mini-guides and articles about free traffic. After the first page, they are in no particular order.
In the three years since these resources have existed, here and at other sites, there's been an evolution. I've listened to you and found out that more of you wanted tips about all types of traffic, not just free, and that you wanted step by step methods. I also realized that since I wasn't specifically targeting internet marketers, but regular people who were bringing their offline businesses online, I needed to have even more resources to show you how to get better results for non-internet-marketing sites, but still keep them useful for internet marketers, particularly those who market to a micro-niche.
A free traffic exchange is one of the best ways for webmasters to get free website traffic to their sites or affiliate marketing campaigns. Free Traffic Exchanges allow you to surf other members websites, and for each viewing, you get so many of your own URLs and banners added into the rotation for other members to view. There are hundreds, if not thousands of free traffic exchanges online today, and each traffic exchange has thousands of members surfing each and every day. That's a lot of potential traffic you can get for little or no cost for your advertising efforts. All you need to do is spend some time surfing the exchanges to get credits for your websites to be viewed by thousands of potential customers.
You do need to find which traffic exchanges work best for your website and/or promotions. No two free traffic exchanges are created equal and the most active ones are not necessarily the best ones for your needs.
Free traffic exchanges are a great marketing tool for a variety of reasons. The most obvious reason is that you get lots of people looking, and hopefully clicking on your website or promotional pages. But there are hidden benefits to free traffic exchanges you may not have even considered.
Search engines love free traffic exchanges because of all the incoming and outgoing links they generate. Plus the rapidly changing content is another reason the search bots love these things. Exchanges that have more content also generate a higher page rank, and therefore more traffic, and increased memberships. The key is to find exchanges that are very active and have lots of members. The more members they have, the more potential customers you get looking at your offer and your chances for sales conversions are that much better. But bigger isn't always better.
Some free traffic exchanges may convert sales like crazy for one person, and be a complete waste of time for another. If everyone promoted the same website or affiliate program in the same traffic exchange for example, then your chances of making sales would not be very good. Even if you were promoting the #1 best product or service on the internet, the fact is if everyone promoted the same program, your chances are much lower that someone will purchase through your website or link to make you any money. Also, when people see the same ad over and over again, they get desensitized to it. Don't fall into this trap. It's one thing to try and sell a very popular product/service/ebook etc, but it's another thing when a thousands of other people are doing the same thing. Competition is a good thing, because it validates your market, but too much competition is tough and it's time to move on to something else. (Less)
