Since I've already said everything that I need to about this video in the comments (More) ATTENTION:
Since I've already said everything that I need to about this video in the comments and I am tired of repeating myself, I am hereby retiring from this video. I am sure some of you will be glad to hear that but seriously, I just keep getting the same crap from different people who don't bother to read the comments.
Also, I am not saying that Zeppelin were lousy musicians or that they didn't write great songs, they were and they did. It's just that they also took credit for songs that they didn't write. If you are still not convinced, there are many articles on this subject out on the 'net but I think these three are the best:

http://www.shindig-magazine.com/pdf/dazed.pdf
http://www.furious.com/perfect/jimmypage.html
I suggest reading all three entirely.
If I don't respond to your comment, that just means that I've already addressed the issue several times. I have a thousand better things to do with my time so you folks are on your own. Have at it.

Since I seem to be getting the same lame excuses thrown at me over and over, I'll save us both some time....
1. "Big deal, everybody does it"
No, they don't. Unfortunately, plagiarism does happen from time to time but most artists are very honest when crediting original composers.
2. "They're not the only ones to do it."
So it's not wrong to do something just because other people do it too? By that logic, rape and murder are okay too.
3. "But Zeppelin made those songs their own!"
Listen, no matter how well you perform/interpret/arrange a song, you still didn't write it. There is no such thing as making someone else's song "your own."
4. "These are just blues songs and blues songs are all the same anyway."
First of all, it's the LYRICS and MELODY that will get you in trouble for plagiarism, not the chord progression. And if you think that all blues songs are the same, you obviously haven't listened to a whole lot of the blues.
Secondly, five of these songs are not blues songs.
5. "Zeppelin has always admitted that those people were influences."
Yes, they do list most of them as influences but only ever admitted that the songs were not completely original until after getting busted.
6. "They were just paying tribute to their heroes."
Aww, how sweet. They should have paid the royalties too then. And I don't see how it's a "tribute" when you aren't giving them credit for writing the songs.
7. "The guy who made this has no life!"
Really? I would have made it a long time ago but I just recently had the spare HOUR that I needed to piece it together.
8. "This guy is just jealous of the greatest band in the world!"
This one just cracks me up, especially considering that the people who write this would surely suck Jimmy Page's ass if he told them to.
9. "Did you get permission to use these songs for your video? Huh?!"
No I didn't, but using short clips when making an educational video is perfectly legal, especially when the whole point is to give credit back to the people who deserve it. I'm sure they would appreciate my use of the songs much more than Zeppelin's.
10. "Everybody already knows this. Shut up!"
Nope. In fact, most Zeppelin fans have never heard of these original songs. You're just trying to silence something that you don't want to hear by using false claims.
11. "They didn't know about all that legal stuff back then. They were too busy getting high and having sex with groupies to worry about that."
Are you kidding me? Page and Jones were two of England's most successful studio musicians for years before Zeppelin existed. They knew the business inside and out. To say otherwise is to say that they were morons. Also, if it was just an "accident," why did they have to get sued to pay out and why have they still not given up a dime on some of these songs?
12. "shut the fuc up ur a asshole jimmi page is god an ur jus no good enuf to talk about zeplin! u no nothing!"
Huh?
13. "You're a dick."
OK, you got me there. There's no way for me to disprove that one. At least I'm an honest dick.
I hope these answers help. From now on, instead of typing them again (and again), I will just direct you to the appropriate number. Thank you. (Less)
