En France, la série a été diffusée à partir du 28 août 2003 sur M6 dans le cadre de La Trilogie du samedi puis a été diffusé sur W9. En ce moment, la série passe sur Série Club chaque mercredi à partir de 20h45 à raison de 2 épisodes par semaine. Un homme se réveille sur une île, entièrement nu, et se rend compte qu'il a perdu la mémoire. Il part à la recherche de son identité et s'aperçoit qu'il possède une culture générale très étendue, ... Il connaît en fait tout ce qui est humainement possible de connaître, sauf son passé, mais une mystérieuse organisation le surveille et le manipule, ... Cette série n'a connu qu'une seule saison en raison d'une mauvaise audience. Cependant, la série ayant été plutôt bien accueillie à l'étranger, un téléfilm serait en projet pour clore l'histoire (ce fut annoncé par M6 à la fin de la diffusion du dernier épisode). Purcell föddes i februari 1970 i Wallasey utanför Liverpool i Storbritannien, som den äldste av fem barn. Som tvååring flyttade han och hans familj till Sydney, Australien där han sedan växte upp. Han uppfostrades av sin norska pappa och irländska mamma i Sydney-förorten Western Suburbs där de bodde.

År 2002 debuterade Purcell som huvudperson i den amerikanska TV-serien John Doe, men hans stjärnstatus höjdes när han fick rollen som Drake i filmen Blade: Trinity.
För tillfället spelar han Lincoln Burrows i TV-serien Prison Break.
Privatliv [redigera]
År 2000 vann han ett green card-lotteri, och han lever nu i Los Angeles, Kalifornien, USA, tillsammans med sin hustru Rebecca, och deras fyra barn: Joseph (född 1999), Audrey (född 2001), och tvillingarna Lily-Rose och Augustus (födda 2003).

Dominic Haakon Myrtvedt Purcell[1] (born February 17, 1970) is a British-born Australian actor, of Norwegian-Irish parentage, most active in the United States. He is best known for his roles as the title character on John Doe and as Lincoln Burrows on Prison Break.

Purcell, far left, in the Season 1 promotional photograph of the Prison Break cast.Purcell was born in Wallasey, Merseyside, England in 1970, the eldest of five children. He moved to Sydney, Australia with his family when he was two, where he was raised by his father and Irish mother, Maureen, in the Western Suburbs. Purcell attended St Dominic's College. Purcell's father, who had previously served in the Norwegian Merchant Navy, installed air-conditioning ducts for a living, but later separated from the family.[1] Purcell's paternal grandfather was from Bergen, and his paternal grandmother a New York-born Irish-American. His middle name Haakon and his other surname Myrtvedt are both Norwegian.
