Re:Re:Re:bass notes:the low low C & the triple low C(16 Hz) At last a 4th installment but I think I´ve waited too long because this is a long video and I (More) At last a 4th installment but I think I´ve waited too long because this is a long video and I still have many clips left...
1. Anatoly Artamonov (Thanks Benedict101) with a nice Bb1.
2. Youtube user LowBase (from Kingsway Quartet) with a nice A1. I used a frequency analysis of Paul Kennamer´s C0 (last in this video) as a picture here.
3. Aaron Mccune from Gold City with a A1 from song "I´m rich".
4. Richard Sterban with also an A1, from "I know what lies ahead".
5. George Younce sings two sturdy G1:s from "Echoes from the burning bush".
6. Vladimir Miller starting at Db2 then moving down to Bb1 and then a G1, no close microphone here!
7. Rumanian priest Cristian Deheleanu hitting G1 (after a C2), no close microphone! from youtube (Rumanian basso profundo).
8. same as above but with a F#1.
9. Very powerful E1 by Christian Davis, it´s also him hitting the E4 in the upper harmony. Song is "The Lord´s prayer" from the CD "Make it Real" by Christian Davis (2006). Used by permission.
10. Joe Brinkley from Promised Land Quartet goes down to Eb1 but that last note is a good example of vocal fry. The Ab1 before and after seems not to be fry though. from song "When I make it".
11. Jeff Pearles from Palmetto State Quartet hitting a Eb1 from "Roll on Jordan".
12. Will Adkins from "Gospel Harmony Boys" hits also a Eb1 from "The one who leads the way" live recording. Thanks adkinsda!
13. Will again and this time he meets the challenge of tenor Rusty Phillips who ventures up to a high D (D5), will goes 4 octaves lower...from song "just a little talk with Jesus".
14. JD Sumner going down from D2 to D1! studio version of "walk that lonesome road".
15. JD again but this time live, after the D1 he makes some growly noises but I don´t count them as singing, but they are very funny (and so thinks the audience!).
16. JD again, studio version of "Rainbow of love", all the way down to C#1!
17. Christian Davis with a nice C#1 from song "the dream" which is a nice duet/competition with Tim Riley.
18. Time for the sub-contra octave (and for turning up the volume on your hi-fi system!)! Paul Kennamer from Valor sings a good B0 after some whispery C1:s, from "Jesus he will fix it".
19. Paul again and this time he hits a Ab0 (!) at the end but there are two low notes before which I have a hard time to measure, from "It´s almost over".
20. And finally a triple-low C, C0(16Hz)!! by Paul, from "How great thou art". The picture on the next clip shows the frequency analysis and it´s clear that at the end he goes from C0 to C1 but I must confess that I don´t hear the scale.
NEW INFO: Paul starts at A-1 (14Hz) and goes to C#0, D#0 and upwards to C1. This I found by measuring the time between successive amplitude peaks in the sound wave.
21. To compare, here is a C0 with appropriate overtones making it resemble the oboesounding tuner in Musebook tuner SW. It´s the overtones that makes this note audible.
22. And finishing off with a sine wave of 16Hz (no overtones) which actually is audible/"feelable" despite the 20Hz limit set by the human ear.
Check also the new "Tim Storms sings eight hertz" video, I only find two C1 scales in there though. Also check out the "How low can you go" video which probably features JD Sumner´s voice down to a D1.
Keep the low bass notes coming! (Less)
