I love doing pro work with rebel technology. The camera and lights for this shoot only cost $1,000. (More) I love doing pro work with rebel technology. The camera and lights for this shoot only cost $1,000. This is the (almost) finished the opening titles sequence for a TV show that will air in Sweden in the fall of 2008. Shot on my kitchen table with a Canon HV-20E at 1080i50 with shutter set to between 1/120 and 1/250 s to get correct motion blur when slowed down to 1/2 to 1/4 of the original speed (using to 50 interlaced frames per second at 1920x1080 to get to 50 progressive frames at 1050x576 for SD delivery, plus in some cases using TimeWarp in After Effects CS4 to further slow down the clips.) Shot without DOF adapter but some shots used RedRock Micro's macro HD lens. Lighting was a single 1000 W spot with an umbrella diffuser in front. Camera moves were hand-pushed on an old tripod dolly. The HDV was ingested into Premiere Pro CS4 via Firewire. I chose which takes to use and trimmed them and then I just copied the timeline and pasted into After Effects CS4 and did the slowmo, vignetting, color correction and other stuff like rotating some shots 90 degrees (I love the flexibility of oversampling on shoot.) Color correction was done with the scripts from "The DV Rebel's Guide" and flares with Knoll Light Factory Pro 2.5.2. I then rendered out each shot to QT Animation @100% and brought them back into Premiere Pro for editing. After the final edit I copied and pasted back into AE and did the final grade and transitions (top layer set to Add and then overlapping Transparency keyframes.) I still need to clean up a bit of artifacts on the slow-mo'ed jumping frog. Made on a 1st gen Mac Pro (3.0 GHz x 4, 16 GB RAM.) (Less)
