D-Loc and Johnny Richter, being both of Irish decent; are both natives of Placentia, California, meeting each other at the young age of eight years. D-Loc met Daddy X through "a friend of a friend" and began hanging out, going to clubs, and partying at X's house. Daddy X had been in the music industry previous, as a member of Humble Gods, as well as working with other early Hip-Hop acts, such as Eazy E. Soon enough D-Loc and Johnny Richter began to hang out with Brad X on a more daily basis. After one day of hanging out in Richter's VW van, Richter as the silent type began to rap to the classic hip-hop tracks from the radio by (one of which was the song "Hey Luva" by LL Cool J), shocking both X and Loc. After hitting every rhyme, Daddy X, decided that they should record some songs, and try to perform at the local pubs bars, and clubs. Afterwards, he also began to sing note for note on songs from such classic rock groups, one his favorites being Led Zeppelin. http://www.suburbannoizerecords.com/ Originally when they started the group it was called the PTB(P-Town Ballers), after the basketball team they were all in, and included Johnny Richter, Dustin D-Loc Miller, and Saint Dog. Brad X booked them to open for shows, mainly punk rock shows, at which they didn't get a very good reception. The name was changed when Johnny Richter left the band. Johnny Richter had been on the original PTB Mixtape. Richter left the band before recording "High Society" because he had a warrant for his arrest for the distribution of marijuana, and wanted to deal with it. A few years later he returned, replacing Saint Dog on the Hidden stash album.Saint Dog Was Battling drug problems so he left to get his life back on track.
Their songs often touch subjects of government misdeeds and misinformation, the War on Drugs, the War on Terror, taxes, education, and poverty. Never endorsing a particular political party and always making references to personal freedom and the Constitution, the group tends to attack social and political topics with a viewpoint that could be considered largely Libertarian. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kottonmouth_Kings (Less)
