Finally, an entire Disco Volante era Bungle show up here on this beautiful website. At long last I get to share with you in full one of my favourite bootlegs. The CD cover is even laced with semen stains. Yes, I love it that much. What's to say here? Filmed at The Fillmore in San Francisco, CA on 18 December 1995, this gig was one of a few that occurred as part of a stark parallel universe to that *other* bands's mainstream popularity & radio-friendly (albeit slightly quirky) rock shenanigans. Yes, we love it, but compared to this, the unabashedly avant-everything off-the-wall experimental circus sonic aural holocaust that is a Mr. Bungle gig, it's always going to be 4rth or 5th best. Needless to say the boys are all in pseudo-incongito (ie. you can't see their faces but you still know who they are so it doesn't really matter =p). And why not? If you're going to concentrate on playing the notes to an intricate Morricone cover in some noisy club after hours with boozed-up hecklers repeatedly screaming song titles to an album of yours you didn't really like much while screaming into two different mics at once and altering their effects accordingly, you might as well do it with a tight latex mask squeezing at your precious blood vessels. And so, as well as LC's long-winded beat about the bush introductory blurbs, we kick off with the first video here, the soft, very much "preliminary"(compared to what's to follow) 'Lurve on the Event Horizon' off The Bends. Best summed up with that 70s afro-donning furry from Happy Tree Friends: "Ohhh yeeaaahh". Lax! Personnel: Spruance - Guitars, Keyboards Dunn - Basso Heifetz - Drumz (lol!) McKinnon - Flutes, Sax, Keyboards, etc. Lengyel - Flutes, Sax, Keyboards, etc. Winant - Percussion Patton - vox.
