The Passion Of Dracula--Act 3: Voiceovers These 2 excerpts can rightly be called "voiceovers", because in order to deliver the (More) These 2 excerpts can rightly be called "voiceovers", because in order to deliver the lines, I had to climb up on the catwalk directly above the stage. So, my voice was "over" that of the other characters...(...Neek-Nurk, Neek-Nurk, Neek-Nurk, Neek-Nurk, Neek-Nurk, Neek-Nurk.........Neek...8^)...
Throughout the play, van Helsing has been picking Renfield's brain to find out Dracula's plans, strengths and weaknesses. Sara the actor is very intelligent, but Renfield the character wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer; he was pretty much putty in van Helsing's (and Drac's) hands. So, in between these two voice-overs, vH uses a color wheel to hypnotize him and delve even further into his mind. Before this scene, Seward had hooked up Harker to give Willie a blood transfusion, so she's made a partial recovery. Gordon came to his senses, and staked Helga; now, she is truly and really dead. At every show, vH always got big laughs when he read those 2 "comforting" phrases from the bookshelf. This time, it's Seward (not Harker 8o) entering at the end of the clip.
I don't want to write too much here, because after the 2 minutes of excerpts I have inserted a very long, very boring blog. DANG, my nose is shining those lamp lights!! Let this be a lesson to you all--don't just wake up & jump on the 'puter, without washing your face 1st. If you are only interested in Dracula, just stop watching after the 2nd voiceover. If you are at all interested in me, go ahead and watch the blog until you get bored, then stop. I just looked up the other play; it's DRINKING IN AMERICA, by Eric Bogosian. Also, I forgot to mention watching all the great classic portrayals by Bela Lugosi and Christopher Lee. I even bought 2 or 3 vampire encyclopedias and dictionaries, and read several biographies of Bram Stoker. To clarify, I was weak and sore in between shows and rehearsals, but not during. Whatever you decide to do, God Bless You!
Christ's Love,
Sincerely,
Marvin J.
ps-As always, I feel obligated to apologize for the substandard AV quality. Sorry. †, M.
