These last eighteen years Have gone by so fast So let’s take the time And reminisce through the past When I was tiny and coloring with Crayola I would tune into Disney And wish I was friends with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Daisy Cartoons got an upgrade And went 3D Pixar produced Finding Nemo and Toy’s Story When I got older I outgrew animation I got into TV series Taking over every station They shaped our ideals The drama made minds swirl Like falling in love like Corey and Topanga From Boy Meets World Teens were addicted to MTV It used to played more music like on TRL But now airs more shows like The Real World Because reality TV is what sells NSYNC sang “Bye Bye Bye,” to pop As we turned into a hip hop nation Tattoos and piercings were in As rock ‘n roll became the new sensation We listen to these songs On iPods and mp3’s Because eight tracks are out the door And we trashed CDS We can download these jams On our laptops and cell phones Where we also instant message And can access info from any time zone And when guys aren’t watching TV Or chatting online They’re playing video games All the time From Xbox to play station to Nintendo From Super Mario to Pokémon to Halo The population of gamers Continue to grow Now let’s flip back to the TV And turn on the news And watch what’s going on In the world around you George W.
