This piece inspired the login illustration that vimeo commissioned from me for their redesign earlier this year; it is still in use throughout the site. The video is a condensed time lapse of screenshots over a several month period. Total physical drawing time is close to 40 hours and I'd add an equal amount of time for concept time and readying the print. A screenshot was taken every 5 seconds, which actually results in a full 18 minute video. I'll upload that for posterity later.
My life has changed a lot since i started this, so I thought it appropriate to include my friends, family and loved ones since they all were on my mind throughout the creative process. Enjoy!"

Vikki Panetti was born in Madison, Wisconsin where her parents owned a family dairy farm. She is the youngest of four children. When she was three her father sold the farm and took a job as a manager of large Texas ranches. She spent most of her youth on a ranch in Fredericksburg, Texas. She was a rather loner as a child and spent her time with animals, riding and drawing horses while listening to The Beach Boys and Johnny Cash records. The Texas Hill Country is known to be a favorite place for musicians. Her parents would take her to out door dance halls to see her brother play drums in a country western band. Vikki's two older brothers were also a musical influence to her. Her brothers and sister turned her onto bands like Led Zepplin, The Police, Blondie, Queen, Pat Benetar and Foreigner. The first album her Mother ever bought for her was the Go Gos. When Vikki discovered Kiss she was immediately in adulation and began to emulate them. Dressing up like them and putting makeup on herself. She would lipsync their songs and perform shows for her neighbors and parents. Soon after, she fell in love with the piano and was taught by a respected Austrian pianist. Vikki also sang in the church and school choirs and later took up some guitar and snare drum in the high school band. After High School, Vikki went on to graduate from Stout University with a bachelors degree in Business and Retail Merchandising with a minor in Speech . She had a lead role as a freshman, acting in a college theater production as well. In the late 80s, Vikki discovered her love for metal bands but was more enticed by their makeup, stage shows and theatrics than the music itself. In college her musical influences were Janes Addiction, Helmet, L7, Ani Difranco, Nirvana and Rage Against the Machine. After college Vikki moved to Chicago to do an internship at Neiman Marcus department store. She apprenticed with professional makeup artists. Two years later she moved to California where she became a professional makeup artist and stylist. She also became an activist who has given speeches for Amnesty International. More recently, Vikki Panetti won an understudy role in the film "Expendable" executive produced by Robert Downey Jr. Within five years of arriving in Hollywood, Vikki started the band "Shemonster". An interview of Nelson Mandela in which he said "Music is the great communicator" inspired her to start rocking the mic. So the dream of Shemonster soon became a reality. Not only is Shemonster fighting their way through the thick music underground, but also fighting for the rights of death row inmate, Scott Panetti, older brother to Vikki. Scott is on death row in Texas, and fighting for his life has changed the lives of Vikki, her family and so many others around her. Shemonster is now a rising voice in the Hollywood underground and based around the likeness of a punk state of mind with a metal musical surrounding. Vikki Panetti is the lead vocalist, songwriter, mastermind and driving force behind Shemonster. The Shemonster band is ambitious, electrifying and driven. It is bound to turn heads and raise eyebrows with its unorthodox sound, rock n roll flavor and definite sex appeal.
