I'm very happy because I was able to do the Salazar fight a bit different. I found a cool strategy that can be very effective in knife/handgun or handgun only runs ^^.
NOTICE:

0:03 Position it's the key in this part.
0:09 I found that aiming down with shotgun works better for droping the red zealots.
0:26 Reload every time that you can, remember that unupgraded shotgun is really slow =S.
1:12 Remember that some animations make it impossible to drop the zealots. Don't shoot them while they are standing up, wait until they are "active" (when you have played a lot this game, you always know when they are "active", you just "feel" it XD).

I found that the most important thing here is TIMING. Why? Because the "magical" spot isn't actually that "magical". The tentacles are really slow to attack, and they have a LONG recovery phase. When you "run" close to the middle tentacle, the other tentacles will be attacking the spot where Leon "was" some seconds ago. You need to "feel" when the time is over, and jump down or find a safe spot.
2:55 Aiming here is VERY difficult =P, you need to learn the middle tentacle pattern. When using the shotgun, I try to shoot "up-right" of the big eye.
3:04 Exposing Salazar body takes 4 shotgun blasts. Remember the TIMING. If you fail two or more shots, prepare for dealing with the other tentacles.
3:10 With practice, you will know what's the point where broken butterfly almost never misses. Remember that Salazar moves his head and arms while taking damage.
3:16 You have the time for 6 shots of the broken butterfly, and 2 shotgun blasts.

Well, using only the "normal" strategy wasn't my objective, so I wanted to make something different, better for a no-damage challenge =P.
In this point, you're safe. Not the point, but the DISTANCE, is what really matters here. Tentacles will miss everytime, and middle tentacle "crushing" attack will too.
If you're doing a no merchant handgun run, or a no merchant knife/handgun, or a upgraded handgun, etc... I think this strategy will help you more than the usual one. Why? Look carefully:
3:54 Forget about the other tentacles, just shoot the big eye ;)
3:58 You can shoot Salazar like 4-5 times when the middle tentacle is preparing his "instant-kill" attack. I didn't do it here, because aiming that fast is difficult... and dangerous XD at this point. I was focusing on exposing Salazar the "normal" way. Anyway, it can be done.
3:59 How to avoid it without getting hit by other tentacles? The middle tentacle attacks in a straight line, just move from that point, but keep the DISTANCE that makes you unattainable from the other tentacles.
4:03 Don't turn 180º too early, or the big mouth will catch ya =S (this happens also when you reload in that point, maybe those actions make Leon move backwards a bit? :O
4:08 While the big mouth closes, you can shoot again Salazar white body. This distance makes too difficult doing the job with broken butterfly. Shotgun it's better for successful hits, but you need a LOT of ammo =S.
