Like many grassroots bands before them, Indorphine first formed in 1999 inside the garage of lead singer Jimmy Grant as he and childhood friend and drummer Everett Sailor began to jam out their favorite hard rock songs eventually spawning their own innovative and abstract musical metal. The neighbor across the street walked over one day and introduced himself as Buddy Fischel. Buddy arrived in Florida from the Syracuse, NY area following construction work when he moved across the street from the garage duo. An experienced guitar player and songwriter, Indorphine was complete for the time being as they rehearsed for nearly a year before stepping out into the Central Florida scene. While they steadily gained popularity, the band members still wanted someone who truly shredded on guitar. Guitar and strings virtuoso and fellow New Yorker Adam Phillips was one of Indorphine's first die hard fans; that was until the band heard his extensive talent and made him an official guitar player. Soon after Adam joined, Indorphine's first bass player parted over creative differences. This made way for current bass player and vocalist, Indiana native Tanner Owings; who took a chance leaving the popular Orlando band Milka, to explore his options with the experimental Indorphine. The addition of Tanner completed the bombastic lineup of 5 years until Adam Phillips left the band in early 2007. Just two short months after Adam's departure, Indorphine picked up another Orlando guitar guru, current memeber Brett Walker, also of the 80s cover band The A-Team and formerly of Loss for Words; Central Florida's most progressive hardcore band that disbanded in 2006. Mocking every visual, musical and conceptual stereotype of pop culture's acceptable versions of hard rock, Orlando FL's Indorphine is the prototype of innovation in the saturated and stagnant market of today's rock and roll music by composing groove laden rhythms with bits and rifts of southern rock, bluegrass, thrash metal, hardcore and psychedelic funk. Indorphine gives staggering live performances all over the county never failing to deliver an entertaining set complete with instrument changes, audience participation, stunting levels of volume and a barely containable energy. In their first five years Indorphine shared the stage with the following artists: Stone Sour, Shadows Fall, Shinedown, George Clinton and the P-Funk All Stars, Drowning Pool, Invitro, Lacuna Coil, Jimmie's Chicken Shack, Geni Tortures, Submersed, Adema, Mushroomhead, Dope, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Skeleton Key, Memento, Clutch, Prong, Nonpoint and Skindred as well as many other talented local and national acts. As fans of music, Indorphine like many of us, are disillusioned by the barrage of blasè rock and roll, but unlike us, they are regular-guy rock and roll heroes writing music strictly for the sake of making something new then exposing it in clubs and bars all over the county. Unabashed by what is considered "status quo" for commercial sale, Indorphine's blatant commentaries on 2006 national release entitled Glowsticks for Clubbing Baby Seals include tongue-in-cheek titles such as, "Radio Whore," "Uncle Winky's Hump Palace," and "I Wanna be in Tabloids" that breathe a refreshing excitement and edge back into the defunct lungs of rock music. After recording and co-producing Glowsticks for Clubbing Baby Seals and shooting their first video for "Spaghetti" in 2005, Indorphine started 2006 touring with The Accident Experiment that culminated at the Coffin Case Fashion Show during the 2006 Winter NAMM Festival in Anaheim, CA. Building a West Coast fan base quickly, Indorphine continued on the road in 2006 with Bobaflex, Dog Fashion Disco, Psychostick and Tubring. Post a successful showcase at the 2006 SXSW Festival, Indorphine started to turn heads and soon after signed a record deal with independent label Rock Ridge Music as well as endorsement deals with: Jagermeister Music, Michael Kelly Guitars, Traben Bass, Kustom Amplifiers, Dean Markley Strings, Sik World Clothing and Excel Drumsticks.
