King of Fighters: The New Beginning (2009) This was trailer I made up base on a story I wrote about an ancient Japanese myth , known as the (More) This was trailer I made up base on a story I wrote about an ancient Japanese myth , known as the Orochi. A powerful entity that whomever obtains this power will unleash an inner demon that lies within oneself. This power is nearly unbeatable. The story also incorporates Sigmund Freud's pyschological theory of the "Ego, Super Ego, and the Id." Ken is the main character of this story, and throughout his journey he discovers the inner demon that lies within his Bloodline. He is out to stop Kain Heinlein from resurrecting the power of the Orochi. A script is in development right now. Since I had only 3 months to complete this project i couldn't make an entire short film, so I decided to make a trailer instead, and try to show various scenes of what could have been if it was a full length film. But of course if I had some funding and a big budget, and also the tools to create better visual effects. The scenes would have been a lot better. But I could only make best with what i had available.
There was no money or funding for this project except the money out of my pocket to make the costume and buying the props (i.e. swords, shurikens, etc.).
Total cost = $125.
Cast and crew members were just 3 of my friends from my class, and a guy I met at the gym. Oh and also myself.
Total cost = Treat the guy I met at the gym to dinner, $25
Was shot on location at a place that was once known as "Splendid China" in Orlando, Fl., but is now known as a "big area of empty land." Convincing the park owner to shoot at this location for my school project.
Total Cost = $0
I had access to only 2 DV Cameras which I had to borrow from my University.
Total Cost = $0
A steady cam that was made out of materials bought from Home Depot, and 2 tripods were also used only.
Total cost = $20
And just editing and creating visual effects with my trusty PC at home.
Total cost = priceless
The possiblities are endless with what I can do. "Dream it, draw it on paper, then make it happen."
