Banks was so traumatized planning the sit-down chat on her talk show she insisted there was no audience present for the first part of her TV summit meeting with her catwalk rival. Fighting back tears as she introduced the show saying, "Today is a healing day for me and I hope it is a healing day for Naomi too," Banks brought on her guest and accused Campbell of fuelling a media-invented war of words between the pair. She recalled backstage tantrums and fashion shows and catty remarks through the years, but insisted a location shoot in Anguilla was the first time the rivalry turned really nasty. Banks accused her guest of having her kicked off the photoshoot after a spat on a boat. She told Campbell, "I was very seasick on that boat... and you came and you sat down next to me... and you're like, `Sweetie, are you OK?' "Then you said, `I have to ask you something... Do they try to make you look like me?' I said, `I don't know about so much now but, in L.A., yeah, they really do, with the short black wigs' and you got up, pushed me away and said, `I thought so!' "You turned. You went from (being) the sweetest woman who was giving me vitamins to someone that terrified me on that trip. "I was told on that trip I was sent home because you didn't want me there anymore." Campbell insisted she never had Banks dismissed, stating, "That's not true. I don't have the power of Anna Wintour (Vogue editor)." Banks also recalled a spat backstage at a European fashion show, when she recalled her rival telling her, "You'll never be me, don't ever think that you'll be me." Shocked Naomi retorted, "I said that..? I know the person that I am and I'm not someone to go and give myself away and say that to anybody, I've never said that in my life. But if that's what you remember, I accept that, but it doesn't sound like me." The two models put their differences behind them at the end of the tearful show and sobbed after Campbell told her former rival, "However I've affected you or you've felt that I've affected you I take my responsibility, I must say I'm very proud of you. You've been a powerful black woman... Please continue." Bawling Banks then stated, "Naomi, thank you so much for saying that... By you just saying that one thing you have no idea what my heart is doing right now." Banks ended the show by telling viewers, "I can rejoice because I have made peace with this woman here." onto her chat show, in an attempt to end their 14 years feud. After the show, Tyra explained to the press the reasons that led to the two super models not speaking to each other for so long: "The press had cast Naomi and (me) as rivals before we ever met each other. Back then there were ten top models... but there was an unwritten rule that only one of them could be black... And Naomi was that one black girl." But now, after she quit the catwalk as she was sick of constantly being compared to Campbell, Tyra seeks reconciliation. Or revenge. It is not clear yet, as, on the show, instead of burying the hatchet, Tyra confronted Naomi with the memories of their not so polite first encounter. Banks began by telling Naomi that she had her pictures plastered all over her bedroom walls before she became a model. But she went on, recalling the 'historical' meeting back in 1991. "I called my aunt and I said, `She's right behind me, oh my God she's so beautiful...' but Naomi, do you remember what you said to me? "You said, `I heard you talking about me.. ,' you called me the `B' word and you said, `We have a photoshoot to do in Anguilla and it's not going to be pleasant if you're talking about me like that." Campbell couldn't remember, but apologized, explaining: "I probably did say that, because I probably just heard the tail end or just thought it must be negative." (Less)
Clive Barker's Jericho - Fun Hectic Nasty I had bought this game quite a long time ago, but didn't realise my PC was too old to run it - (More) I had bought this game quite a long time ago, but didn't realise my PC was too old to run it - And since it broke down recently and I had to buy a new one, I gave it a try last night...
Well... See for yourself... It's fun, nasty, creepy and hectic. Doesn't work too well alone as a stand alone game, but for one that has taken so many elements from other games and moulded it into one, quite a few people may enjoy it.
Squad based first person shooter, throwing you in control of a handful of 'warrior priests' with some time-travel and a lot of religious references thrown in for good measure (didn't really get to keep up with the story, bar the basics, the game moves far too quick or I just didn't bother listening, will try harder on second go).
As you progress you get to freely switch between each character, and make use of their abilities (such as time-hacking, ghost bullets, both of which pretty much means 'bullet-time' ala Max Payne or the Matrix, healing and draining opponents, unleashing flame demons etc) along with your regular arsenal of gunpower.
What's interesting is they incorporated several mini-cut scenes which require you to press specific keys to progress - Failing to press the right one during a popup, or taking too long, more often than not leads to immediate death.
It's too breakneck and often very fucking frustrating having to repeat the same sequence over and over again when you fail, as you will never notice when the game decides to throw you into one of these sequences until you've died from it and/or noticed the keys before it's too late, but they're still fun, check out me performing the Exorcism or grappling with the Templar Skeleton (Not nice results if you fuck up).
So to put it blunt, it's a 2 year old blend of Max-Payne shooting style, Space-Hulk teamwork, Kane & Lynch squad based combat thrown in with slightly Silent-Hill'ish story, time travel, big guns, sexy women and a lot of blood and guts. (Less)
