The Resistance playing "Half The Burden" at The Zodiac Sessions singer/songwriter night held in Bruxelles bar, Dublin, Ireland.
THE RESISTANCE
Ask any band what they sound like and they'll have a hard time telling you. We're no different - so we cheated and asked our friends. Apparently we're: "Alternative rock with Irish folk influences" "Jazzy folk rock" "If a good electric rock band were playing unplugged all the time, that's what it would sound like." "Folk n'roll" The Resistance began with Rob and Dave writing songs at home, with other musicians coming on board as their songs needed new dimensions. An old friend Sean O'Connor was drafted in on drums and the songs truly began to take shape ... When the lads were truly satisfied that the had a collection of songs they were truly proud of, it was time to record. As is often the case, the songs led the band rather than the band directing how the songs should eventually sound. And it was clear that texture was going to be a very important part of the record ... Aided by Rob McCloud, Eanan Patterson and Greg French a collection of instruments began to make their way onto the record - double bass, electronica, and glockenspiel. There's even a salt cellar in there somewhere! A sneak preview of a few tracks to Hotpress, and a few taster gigs in Dublin led to the Pick of the Week on Phantom FM, and Pick of the Fortnight in Hotpress Magazine (we're waiting for a pick of the month to come along) Having just completed the Recording of what will be their debut album (Bag of Bones), The Resistance are currently planning an Irish release of their first single the title track from their album. Welcome, one and all..........to THE RESISTANCE.

Roll the dice and collect the item, agreed by the pupils, then position it in the correct space shown with a sequence spot. I developed this game in response/ reaction to a similar one mentioned by Sonia Michelson in her "New Dimensions". It can be done, happily without too much public liability insurence. The learning intention is to identify, name and deploy the ... (Less)
