On the set of "More" with Junkie XL These are just raw scenes from the set of Junkie XL's video for his new single (More) These are just raw scenes from the set of Junkie XL's video for his new single "More", from EA Games' new "Need For Speed Pro Street". I mostly let the camera roll as things on set got quiet, concentrated, tense, funny, or all of these things.
I also did a lil' on-cam walk and talk with Junkie XL, AKA Tom Holkenberg, who explained his approach to developing the visual side of his work.
"This is one of the first videos I've ever done in my life where I feel like I have had complete creative control, and in this case I've given control to director Joost Van Bellen. The song is about a certain attitude that a lot of kids have nowadays; they're not interested in what's going on in the rest of the world, you know? They're totally consumed by spending money, partying their ass off and don't care about anything. It's a song about extremities"
And apparently extremities are what the director delivered, as this is a web-only, XXXX-rated video.
It's interesting that Junkie XL has chosen to deliver an anti-apathy, anti-consumerism, anti-escapism (XXXX, no less) film for a video game about car chases, and it'll also be interesting to see what his crew will ultimately deliver to Artwerk, the record label formed in partnership between Nettwerk Records and EA Sports.
The scene I filmed found singer Lauren Rocket, who sings on "More", walking an after-hours odyssey through the streets of DUMBO where she lands quite literally, on a seemingly comatose hipster laid out in the middle of the street.
It sounds simple enough to shoot a comatose hipster and a partygirl walking the street, but the devil is in the details -- cars and trucks kept interfering, the audio didn't synch up, and keeping the shot together grew increasingly challenging, but the crew finally gets it right, although singer Lauren gamely found herself doing multiple takes with her skirt hitched way up high on her hips, straddling a hooded zombie while repeating the chorus: "Rock more/Roll more/Fuck more/Pac Man/is loving it." (Less)
My best wasn´t good enough It takes one second to fall in love, one hour to really love some one but your whole life to forget (More) It takes one second to fall in love, one hour to really love some one but your whole life to forget him.

Lets say Im feeling better
Lets say Im feeling fine
Lets say I gave you all I had
And now Im out of time
And my best wasnt good enough
And now this time to wonder
Now this time to heal
Time to let it all come down
But I dont know what I feel
But it aches and it hurts and it burns
Oh it kills me
Tick, tock, you dont stop
You dont fade
You just stay
But Ill do it all again
Now dont you call me baby
Just dont pretend you care
Save your sorry for yourself
When judas takes you there, yes
Once I really believed
There was nothing out there for the lost and lonely
But a voice in my head kept banging on my heart
Says youre not the only one
But it kills me
Tick, tock, you dont stop
You dont fade
You just stay
But Ill do it all again
Tick, tock, you dont stop
You dont fade
You just stay
But Ill do it all again (Less)
