Attempted abduction reported on city bus police are searching for a suspect they say held a (More) police are searching for a suspect they say held a boy at knifepoint on a city bus... and they're looking into whether the man was trying to abduct the boy. it happened near washington middle school where the boy was headed to class this morning. that's where erica zucco joins us live with more on this developing story. that boy, who was between 8 and 10 years old, is now safe here at washington elementary... this morning he was taking the city bus on his way to school and was just about to get off at 10th and central. that's when a man followed him, put his arm around him and said "long time no see" while walking off the bus. witnesses say he was holding the boy at knifepoint. a teacher who knew him from school approached them as they got off and the man ran. police aren't sure if he wanted to abduct the boy- or was just trying to steal his headphones. either way, they've been looking for him all morning. they're also trying to use surveillance cameras from the buses to identify the man. they say he was in his mid-20s, white or hispanic in a plaid shirt. they don't believe there's a connection to yesterday's abduction attempt. live downtown, erica zucco, kob eyewitness news 4.
