A Dream [original track created with FL Studio] "A Dream" is a song I created from scratch in FL (More) "A Dream" is a song I created from scratch in FL Studio Producer 5, exclusively using instrument generators and effects that came bundled with it [with the exception of an FM7-Xpress arpeggio, some free Kjaerhus FX and an instance of Voxengo Voxformer and PSP Vintage Warmer on my vocal].
It took 29 patterns, 15 instruments, 13 insert mixer channels and a total 5+5+2 hours for a final 110 bars, 136bpm, 3min 14sec arrangement.
"A Dream" was inspired from a dream of mine [back in June 2006]... The idea was to express the weirdness, the anxiety, the agony, the frustration, the darkness.
As for the genre I guess it fits somewhere between the dark/electro/dance styles, with a tiny splash of industrial flavour.
The spoken vocal/lyrics go:
I had a dream...
but you were not in it...
I saw you in my dream...
but I were not there...
The project was screen-recorded with Camtasia Studio and edited with Windows Movie Maker.
I extesively used compression/limiting, automation, hard-panning and delays/echoes for this track [I am not sure if the latter are audible after Utube re-encodes my video]. (Less)

Tips:
1. These mappings also correspond to the XY pad (and X and Y knobs) on their UI. Tweaking or automating these will shift all the corresponding per note parameter values).
2. Plugins that map MOD X/Y to their filter cutoff and resonance: Harmless, Sampler, Granulizer, Fruity Slicer, 3XOSC,Fruit Kick, Wasp, Wasp XT, DX10, BeepMap, SimSynth. Does not work for VST Plugins only FL Studio native format.
3. Place a slide note directly over a normal note to only side the value and not pitch. Also works with per note velocity to fade in and out for example.
4. A slide note playing at the same time as multiple normal notes will slide all of them. But if you use a different note color for one of the normal notes and slide note, only that note will slide.
5. Save a score file with per note parameter settings and load it in the Quantize tool to apply them to other scores.
