Batman: The Dark Knight Returns is a Batman comic book mini-series written and drawn by Frank Miller and published by DC Comics from February to June 1986. This story arc is set 10 years into the future, where Bruce Wayne is an elderly man still guilt-ridden over Jason Todd's death.
