Okay.
First of all, what was that fuckery?
Second, when I decided to watch this show, I was promised unicorns, crazy-ass goblins, farting in throne rooms and people being turned into donkeys. This is not what I signed up for. Watch Merlin, they said. It has some weird, funny shit going on, a sweet love story and an awesome bromance. Oh yeah, it does.
And then everyone MOTHERFUCKING DIES!
No but, seriously. I expected Arthur to die - let's face it, we all knew he was going to die - and even Mordred, because it's a very intricate part of the legends. And then they killed Morgana...I don't think anyone understands how angry this makes me. And sad. And fucking heartbroken. And really, name one version of the legends where she dies? Sure, there's probably one somewhere but...goddamn assholes. Also...can anyone PLEASE explain the point of killing Gwaine off? Seriously, why the actual fuck would you feel the need to kill the dude off? (I know I'm swearing a lot right now...it's all these damn feelings I'm having).
I will say this, though. The Ho Yay was absolutely magnificent. Truly. I was fully expecting Arthur to follow his 'there's something I've never told you' line with 'I love you, Merlin' and then snog the fellow. I was actually surprised when it didn't happen. And this is coming from a someone who hasn't got a single slashy bone in her body.
On another note, Gwen and Leon did actually end up ruling Camelot. As stated in the rant for my last vid, I was totally on board with this...I wanted it to happen. And now I can't enjoy it because EVERYONE IS DEAD! But hey, Merlin actually turned out to be a show about a serving girl who became the Queen of Albion. I'm one of the like only ten people who were rejoiced by this, aren't I? Well, rejoice probably isn't quite right...because EVERYONE IS DEAD!
At least we can now claim with absolute certainty that Leon is immortal.
About the actual vid. I didn't actually include anything from the magic reveal - I know, I know, BLASPHEMY! In my defense, do I really seem like I'm emotionally stable enough at the moment to actually think my vids through?
I am now going to delight you with some more insane workings of my mind, just because this thing is taking forever to upload and it's 6 a.m. here.

Arthur and Merlin actually went. To. The. Tavern. Both of them, Plot twist of the century right there. Also, the die was - quite literally - cast. I see what you did there, writers.
Gwen went from being all 'no, Arthur, you can't go anywhere 'cause you'll get yourself killed' and 'protect him, Merlin, protect him, damn you!' to 'since you're already going to die, we might as well squeeze one last round of sexy times in before you do actually die'. Well, a girl's got needs, I suppose. Also, they brought an entire bed to the battle camp...priorities, what are they?
The Balinor/Merlin scene was an absolute throwback to Smallville's finale. Seriously, I felt like watching the Clark/Jonathan scenes and Clark's little trip down memory lane via crystals all over again. I guess that when they said Merlin was inspired by Smallville, they really meant it.
The amount of implied sex that was had in this episode was at an all-time high.
Arthur;s little fly-and-kick ninja moment made me LOL so hard.For reasons that are only amusing in my head.

At least they didn't show Kilgharrah dying. A teeny, tiny silver lining.
If no mortal blade can kill a High Priestess, why the fuck did Aithusa need to heal Morgana in 4x13? Also, how the fuck did Morgana kill Morgause with just a tiny, little dagger in 4x01? I know there were some incantations involved but that was about tearing the veil between the worlds or whatever...I give up.
Also, what the fuck happened with Aithusa after the battle?
Oh, and did I mention that EVERYBODY FUCKING DIED?
That all said, it was a very emotional, beautifully-shot finale. I shall go curl up in a corner and sob myself to death now.
