Special Student Interns at NBT TV Phuket
"These are our wonderful Student Interns who (More) "These are our wonderful Student Interns who helped us produce programs on NBT TV for the past 3 months. Lets see them in action. 11 students from different universities and colleges, including Phuket Rajaphat University or PKRU, have been working very hard for the last 3 months since November 2008, as Student Interns, gaining experience and skills at our NBT TV studio on Rang Hill. Two of the PKRU students, Kate and Mai, in particular helped on the English language side with work for Andaman News program after Ajan.Pranee recommended them. I asked Kate first what she enjoyed and achieved the most I enjoyed working here because I got a lot of experience. I went out to help do some interviews and sometimes helped with the camera shooting & checked the time codes for many videos. I even did a whole Young reporter segment at British International School football tournament which was good fun, and I also did a segment about the Phuket International Womens Club scholarships at Phuket Vocational College, which was nice because I also used to study there and got a scholarship at Rajaphat. I think my English speaking and listening improved with help from the staff at NBT. In the future I want to work here professionally as a reporter. Thank you & Ajan Pranee for this great opportunity. I also asked Mai what she did and liked the most here: I helped to upload the videos and text and photos on the websites on the Internet, which was quite difficult at first but I got quicker and it was easy at the end. I also did some interviews and reports like at Life Home Project for women with AIDS, and scoops for Thai language news, like at an Education Fair in Phuket Technology School. (My English skills have also got better especially reading and writing). Thank you NBT for this time here." Ple, from Rajamangala University of Technology at Rattanakosin Wang Klai Kangwon Campus in Huahin, helped with Thai language news and told me that she learnt a lot more about Thai society & it made her more confident . Mana, from Prince of Songkhla University in Pattani, said that it was great fun and she made new friends from other universities and she wants to be an intern for a longer time here. Tee, also from Prince of Songkhla University in Pattani, helped with Thai reports. She liked the staff at NBT who took care of her and were friendly. Saen and Un, from Rajapahat University in Surat Thani, helped with the camera shooting, learning new techniques and technology. They also now want to work as cameramen in the future. Jaed, from PKRU, helped with the Thai news writing and he said he wants to write Thai news & speak English very well. He thinks NBT gives other experiences which he didnt receive in university and he thanked staff for spending time with him. He was impressed with everything at NBT. Dtea, from PKRU, said that he learnt techniques for cameramen and found it good fun when he went out and about plus he made a lot of friends. Most of the students also helped at the live outside broadcasts for the Tsunami memorials and the Phuket Countdown festival which were broadcast nationwide in December. All the students and staff also enjoyed a costume party at Bangkok Hospital Phuket. They had fun and worked hard with NBT. We welcome any students who want to come gain experience here as Interns. (Just apply at our NBT station on Rang Hill, near the satellite & sunflowers). They brought some nice sunshine like these sun flowers into our TV network.
