TTC Metrolinx Sheppard East LRT Model By Felix Chan:
Model created for my Grade 10 final (More) By Felix Chan:
Model created for my Grade 10 final project for Design and Technology class.
This is an elaborate model of the proposed Sheppard East Light Rail Transit Right-of-way at the intersection of Sheppard Av. E and Brimley Rd in Scarborough, Toronto. This is how I imagine the street would look like when construction of the line is completed
I utilized Microsoft Paint to create the face of the buildings, the Traffic lights, street signs, Light rail vehicles, etc... Streetlights are made with bamboo skewers and painted cotton swabs and power lines are made with thread. I used foam board where necessary to reinforce the parts. The entire model is supported by a wooden board that was painted black, where lanes were defined by correction tape.I used Google Streetview, and various TTC archives as references for creating this model.
Note: This project of mine does not reflect any political views about transit in Toronto... (I know its been a hotly debated issue) I simply did this for the interest urban design and transit in general (and marks as well).

Background info of the Sheppard East LRT
The Sheppard East LRT is a planned light rail line in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, originally proposed as part of the Transit City proposal announced March 16, 2007.
The line is to be operated by the Toronto Transit Commission. Metrolinx had budgeted $944.5 million from 2009 through 2014 for the design and construction of the line.Funding was approved by the provincial and federal governments in May 2009. Detailed engineering had also been initiated for the grade separation of Sheppard Avenue East and the GO Transit tracks east of Kennedy Road. Construction for the line began on 21 December 2009 at Agincourt GO Station. The line was expected to open on September 11, 2013, the first of the seven Transit City lines to be completed. The line was cancelled and construction was halted by Mayor Rob Ford in April 2011. After city council's reinstatement of the line in March 2012, the line has been finalized to begin construction in 2017 and is expected for completion in 2021.
