Severed Dreams Music - 'Severed Dreams' -Ruarri Joseph From the (More) Music - 'Severed Dreams' -Ruarri Joseph From the album 'Shoulder to the Wheel' - out now! A young boy carries his robot friend into adulthood and finds he would rather put away childish things. The concept was to continue a story about childhood magical friends where most movies would leave it - Pete's Dragon, ET, Mac and Me, Terminator 2 (!). Our film takes the magical friend through to adulthood where it essentially screws up our protagonist's life! The excellent cinematography by Joseph Henderson really sells a balance between the gritty and the fantastical and the Robot design was accomplished by fantastic production designer Samuel Normington and a Doug Jones beating turn by actress Taja Costigan. The video and song seem to go hand in hand and special props should go to Adam Sanders who is a terrific child actor (good luck with the Billy Elliot audition mate), not to mention Emily Dobson and Kelly Jane Manning who play the harassed woman and Princess respectively (and brilliantly). Special thanks to: Kjetil Alexander Gudmestad, my 1st AD, Lucy Pullinger ( makeup artist) and James Harris (focus puller) as well as Chris Naughton from Mondo Management. I should also probably thank my wife, Tiana Doht for putting in a great turn as the terrorized date! The video was shot on canon 5d mark 2 and 550d for under a grand on location in Cornwall. (Less)
BRIGGS 12HP pull starter attempt.avi Trying to get a pull start on my 12hp briggs and (More) Trying to get a pull start on my 12hp briggs and stratton, because i don't have a battery. I have a blown up knock off honda motor laying around so I am fitting the honda recoil to my 12hp. All I needed was the starter cup and recoil off the 5.5hp. 6- 6mm tapered head bolts about 3/4" long, and 6 lock nuts to fit the adapter to the fan shroud. 3 or could use up to 6 6mm hex head bolts 1/2" long with lock washers to bolt the recoil to the adapter. And I used a black cutting board that's about 1cm thick for the adapter ring itself. The outside diameter of the ring is 7.5" and the inside is 5.5". I got the cutting board from the grocery store after i got caught trying the cut up my wife's out of our kitchen. I cut my ring with a jigsaw then centered the recoil and drilled out the 6 holes in the adapter ring. Once i had these hole I took the ring and used the holes i just drilled to help center the ring on the fan shroud and drilled out these holes. All the holes I just drilled were with a bit slightly smaller than the bolt so that the bolts will tap into the plastic. The holes for the fan shroud get countersunk to fit the head of the tapered screw beneath the surface of the plastic. I did this using a drill bit the size of the screw head. Then screw the tapered screws in until tight. the adapter ring is finished. Now just use the locking nuts to bolt it to the fan shroud, and bolt the recoil to the adapter. Then take the honda recoil cup and enlarge the center hole. I used a step drill bit. There is a raised circle that usually fits into a hole in the 5.5 flywheel. I ground this down almost all the way but left a tiny bit to bite into the briggs flywheel when I tighten the flywheel nut. tighten everything and bolt the fan shroud/recoil back on and its done. Cost me 10 bucks. the honda style recoil with cup is under $20 off ebay but I had one sitting around. Hope it works, I test it tomorrow. (Less)
