Wave Machine Sounds from Windsor Leisure Pool in 4… This is interesting to those who might wonder what (More) This is interesting to those who might wonder what actually goes on inside the chambers and what it sound like. There is 3 plenum chambers and 1 Underwater. However watching the String going in and out of the wave machine as the recorder was going up and down with the water looked very strange probley because I never saw it at Letchworth.
On the Active Chamber the string can be seen blown out then sucked back in as well as it going up and down.
When in the Active chamber because I placed the sound recorder in there before they announced a Storm Warning. The Motors can be heard powering up and this can be heard in the pool too.
This was a retake as well. My Voice Recorder managed to survive the Chambers that actually made the wave expecting the lifegaurds to change chambers that makes the wave.
That Particular Chamber was making waves 3 sessions in a row thats what makes it unpredictable must be 1 man selects same chambers each sessions.
The Active Plenum Chamber the wave machine will power up the blowers and then compress air in the large grey pipe which they usually count down (they don't litterly count on the mic) as they announce the Storm Warning and telling people not to dive or jump in the area. There is a lot of banging which sounds bit like smacking a float against the water these got to be the valves.
From the Old Story that my brother gave to me in my young age about swimming in to Plenum Chambers at this pool would be very dangerous if he was in there while it was running, I believe he did it at Letchworth as the Manager said that He did.
Standing in front of this Chamber can suck your legs in as I have seen many taken by surprise but usually you can get away from it when it starts to blow.
2 Non Powerful Chambers - You can hear very different noises in there which is not same as the active chamber. You can also hear the blower and air travelling.
Underwater, The Low Pitch humming noise is a constant noise heard in the pool which have to with the filteration or the pump system as this pool has 2 water slides too. The Wave machine motors can be heard power up if you stand or go underwater where that man is on the picture and then turns in to a higher pitch humming noise with alternating tones from the motor.
Swimming down to the wave machine bars with the machine going is very dangerous especially when swimming to a wave making chamber as the current is stronger than those that don't make waves. They often switch Chambers over to make different patterns in the water.
Notice: Swimming down to a wave making chamber to see inside can be very dangerous, if a person is not careful you can be pulled and hit the bars which will probley result minor to very serious injuries. Some swimming pools ie Letchworth has to rope it off to prevent this happening and another pool has distance restriction while the machine is on again to prevent this happening.
Out of 4 Chambers I believe they use 2 at a Time while other 2 does not make waves but the water in these 2 still goes up and down but slower where the wave making ones are faster. They often change the chambers over on each sessions depends on who does it. (Less)
