Jake Talks to Rachel--Jamie Locks Paulina in Her Room
After his talk with Paulina, Jake goes downstairs to talk to Rachel, who sends Hannah out of the (More) After his talk with Paulina, Jake goes downstairs to talk to Rachel, who sends Hannah out of the room so she and Jake can talk privately. Jake thanks Rachel for everything she's done to make this day so special for Paulina. He tells her that he knows that Paulina means a lot to Rachel. Rachel replies that she's glad Jake knows that. Jake tells Rachel that he loves Paulina a great deal, and they both want to help make the other's dreams come true. Rachel says it takes more than dreaming to make a marriage work, and she hopes Jake knows that. Jake said he does; he learned a lot from everything he went through with Marley. Rachel replies that she hopes Paulina never has to go through anything like that with Jake. Jake assures Rachel that Paulina won't. Jamie gets home then, and he and Rachel go off to talk. Jake runs into Felicia on her way out and thanks her for everything she did to help with the wedding plans. Felicia tells Jake to get his marriage off on the right foot; they're all pulling for him. Jake finds Rachel again after her talk with Jamie. Rachel expresses concern that Paulina is more vulnerable and insecure than any of them realize. Jake says that life in the fast lane with Grant shook Paulina up, and that's why Paulina dumped Grant. Rachel frets that Paulina is settling for an unsteady life lived hand to mouth with Jake because things didn't work out with Grant. She instantly apologizes to Jake for what she said. When she leaves to check on something, Hannah comes down and asks Jake where Rachel is, because she needs Rachel upstairs right away. Then Hannah tells Jake that there's a lot of yelling and screaming coming from Paulina's room, and when she tried the door it was locked; Hannah thinks Jamie locked Paulina in her room. Jake goes running up the stairs with Hannah hot on his heels. Meanwhile, Jamie has indeed locked Paulina and himself in Paulina's room. He pleads with her not to throw her life away and challenges her to look him in the eye and tell him she loves Jake, and Jake is the only man who will make her happy. Jake starts pounding on the door then, yelling at Jamie to let Paulina out and at Paulina to open the door. Paulina starts yelling at Jamie to open the door. Jamie finally unlocks the door and opens it, and Paulina has to jump in between Jamie and Jake to stop them from brawling. Jake asks Jamie why Jamie always has a thing for Jake's women--Marley, Vicky, now Paulina. Rachel bursts onto the scene and separates the men, ordering them to give her their word that they will keep the peace until the wedding is over, if Paulina even still wants to go through with the wedding. Paulina says she does, she just needs some time to pull herself together. Rachel sends Hannah to get Paulina some cold water, demands that Jamie and Jake both give her their word that they will not fight anymore today, yells at them when they leave the room bickering, and then closes the door to give Paulina some much-needed privacy. Paulina tells Rachel that Paulina and Jake should have eloped. Thanks to Wendy for the scenes. (Less)
