Big Rare White-Spotted Deer Chasing From Cart 10-pt racks, Using a golf cart to watch big deer. Lots of large deer were seen. A rare piebald deer with a huge (More) Using a golf cart to watch big deer. Lots of large deer were seen. A rare piebald deer with a huge rack and spots was seen. Several had 8-10 pt. antlers and it was just the beginning of the growth season.
One big buck, which appeared to have 10-point antlers, was a rare piebald. It had one large spot and smaller white spots on its back. It can be seen at approximately 7.44, 8.19, and the very end.
Piebald, albino, "white," and "black" whitetail deer are very rare. In Bolder Junction, Wis., a man once photographed 3 albino deer standing together. The odds of doing this in wild deer have been calculated as astronomical -- 1 in 79 billion. Such calculations are based on assumptions. For example, the odds of finding an albino deer are often calculated as 1 in 30,000. Less than 1 % of whitetail deer are piebald. However seeing either a wild piebald or an albino deer is considered a once in a lifetime experience.
** Some of the world's largest bucks live in Ohio. Some of its world champion bucks have Boone and Crockett scores of over 300 points. Ohio's Beatty Buck may be the (or among the) largest ever taken by a hunter. That title of the largest whitetail, ever, in the record books belongs to the "Missouri Monarch," a 333-7/8 buck found dead on the side of a road in 1982 near St. Louis. In second place is the legendary "Hole in the Horn," found dead in Ohio in 1940, however, many whitetail experts think that it is actually the largest set of whitetail deer antlers in history. It may be the most famous whitetail known.
The male white-tailed deer, or buck (Odocoileus virginianus - normally called the whitetail), can weigh up to around 500 pounds http://64.233.169.104/search?q=cache:7cLce5HsdasJ:espn.go.com/outdoors/hunting/s/h_deer_forecast05_MN.html+heaviest+whitetail&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=us
and the female up to 175 pounds. Males of one year or older have antlers. Young bucks with very small antlers are called button bucks. When the antlers begin to grow in the late spring, they are covered with a very vascular tissue known as velvet or moss. This drops off later. The Boone & Crockett scoring system is used to rate antlers or racks. Bucks shed their antlers at the end of breeding season (rut). Some female deer also have antlers. The piebald or white deer, a deer having more white than normal but not an albino, is very rare.
Deer have an amazing assortment of communicative signs. Approximately 100 different vocalizations have been recorded, such as tending grunts, dominant grunts, bleats, and many others. They make extensive use of sign language. The whitetail is found throughout most of the U.S., southern Canada, Central America, and in the northern portions of South America. It is a generalist, which can adapt to a wide variety of habitats, including woodland, open savanna, and even sage areas.

Predator & Prey-Deer and Coyote/Possible Black Coyote or Fox It is very rare to film predator and prey at same time in the wild. Here are videos of wild deer and (More) It is very rare to film predator and prey at same time in the wild. Here are videos of wild deer and predators.
In the first video, what I thought was a coyote ran past a deer (on right), which stood still. The coyote then appeared on the left and ran toward the deer, but the deer still didn't move. This is difficult to see and shown again in slow motion.
After I further enhanced the film, I decided that the predator was more likely a Kangal dog: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KZv-If9UsI.
Either way however, it is very strange to see a large predator go by a deer, when the deer doesn't run away. (Another video of deer, which do not run, when a coyote ran past them, was taken in the same field:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DnatJ493Fc )
In the second video, a black animal runs accost a field and the deer flee. It is uncertain what this black animal was. It wasn't a neighborhood dog and it lived in a burrow in a field. It seemed to be wild and may have been a feral domestic dog or a black red fox or a black coyote, as described:
http://64.233.169.104/search?q=cache:WN3D-Pm0RMAJ:icwdm.org/wildlife/coyotes.asp+%22Black%22+%22coyote%22&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=5&gl=us
**Coyotes can run at speeds up to 43 mph and can jump over 4 meters. It runs with its tail down. Some coyotes found in the east can weight over 100 lbs (see http://64.233.169.104/search?q=cache:WN3D-Pm0RMAJ:icwdm.org/wildlife/coyotes.asp+%22Black%22+%22coyote%22&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=5&gl=us). Comments and videos show these monster coyotes, e.g., "Coyote attack." Coyotes rarely attack humans. The coyote is very vocal with a number of sounds including barks, yips, whines, growls, and howls.
The coyote (Canis latrans) is also called the prairie wolf. It is a mammal belonging to the order carnivora and related to the domestic dog. They range from Panama through Canada. The name coyote came from Mexican Spanish. The Latin name means barking dog. Nineteen subspecies exist. Its fur is grayish-brown to yellowish-brown and can be black or white. It has a long bushy tail.
