You can tie an eagle To the ground She will find the way To reach the sky somehow So after a lesson Of business administration I went to a radio To get an audition They gave me a program And they gave me a microphone Each night a use to talk To my audience The words and the music They fired my soul Finally I could say I was someone Through the corridors of the radio I met a girl call Sara Her eyes were black As my darkness One night she let me Into her room And she drew me the word love On my chest We cradled we cradled We did linger on From the banks of Barcelona To the islands of Greece I told her I love her And for the first time All my hatchets of rage Seemed to be buried Then in 2001 In Genoa The G8 was gathering And the WTO We went there for the radio And with Sara we reported On how the police killed Carlo all around the town the riots blew up Sara got the gas In her eyes She was screaming and for a minute I lost her in the crowd While the police were charging With steel batons Through the people escaping I saw her against a wall With two cops preparing To beat her Without even thinking I threw myself into that And covered her with my body Against the beating up 5 stitches in my head But Sara was safe And that was the only thing That mattered to me But after four years she came and told me my love I've found another I guess life should be like that I felt the earth missing under my feet I dropped out of the radio And threw away my degree I need to get away From myself and my world So I landed in Austin Texas There I met a girl call Pam From Kentucky We made love under the rain On Riverside One day I was talking about going to New Orleans or maybe L.A. I was undecided But the call of the west Was louder than Burbon street So get my way To Los Angeles I've roamed, I've roamed Till I reached Hermosa beach Where one night I kissed A girl called Stephanie She took off her high heels Cos she was taller than me And that way we danced On the boulevard But I needed to waste away So I went to Las Vegas I did what I did I just needed to loose Denver, Colorado And Arizona The death Valley and the seeds Of San Antonio Sara went out of my mind I got back to Italy Ready to start A new job again They gave me blank sheets On which writing on Screenplays and script And commercials I got me a house And a pretty fine car And tried to slip into The Dolce Vita I worked and I worked And I tried to forget The wild beast I was And the blues I was in Fine suites and red wine Can make you deceive That any scar can be healed With time (Less)
