Riviera: The Promised Land - Off To Battle! Here's a short little something from a gem of a game on the GBA. I would highly recommend this (More) Here's a short little something from a gem of a game on the GBA. I would highly recommend this title, especially given the ease which GBA games may be emulated.
The game is a fairly linear turn based RPG which has the far and away best voice acting for a GBA game you will ever hear(song lyrics in Wario Land 4 take a close second). It has spectacular art and a very deep storyline, I was almost brought to tears at one point. Also two possible bath scenes are viewable in the game, which means bewbs FTW.
Now, I don't know all that much about sound stuffs or music thing-a-ma-doo-hickies, but I did this using Satoshilyish's Mario Paint Composer Plus. It sounds different, to be sure, but I simply haven't the expertise to analyse the differences in sound save for the fact that some things sound crisper, everything has a cool new fade, and that it's...
...echo-ey.
So enjoy! ^_^ (Less)

Riviera: The Promised Land - Probably the closest thing we're going to get to a dating sim in the US (aside from Sprung, that is), Riviera: The Promised Land is a pretty spiffy GBA RPG with an interesting, if simple, battle system, and a point-selection system that's a bit reminiscent of some P&C adventures. If you can find it now, snag it.

"Welcome to RPGFan's Games of 2005 feature. We think we've found a system that we like with the way our staff setup has changed. We're keeping our individual top 5 lists and the point system for one title - RPG of the Year. For the rest of the games, we've decided to switch to a pure vote-based system per category. I think you all will be very surprised, as we've expanded the categories quite a bit this year. That being said, check out each editor's top 5 RPGs of the year (plus Non-RPG Top Picks) and the Games of the Year list by using the navigation above.
Also to be noted is the fact that Kingdom Hearts II and Front Mission 5 were not considered in this list. As both arrived less than 10 days before the end of the year, KH2 on the 22nd and FM5 on the 29th, our staff members did not have the time to fully appreciate these import titles. Look forward to seeing them on next year's list, but, without further ado, 2005's Games of the Year await."
