Sex Pistols "The Sermon" What is this? A new studio recording by The Sex Pistols? A recently found unreleased Sex Pistols (More) What is this? A new studio recording by The Sex Pistols? A recently found unreleased Sex Pistols song from the 70's studio vaults? NO! It is a mash-up of what almost was a Sex Pistols tune, though. It's 1978, right. Jan 14 2:00pm At the end of their fatal final U.S. tour, the Sex Pistols are in San Francisco to perform at the Wonderland Arena. Johnny Rotten and Sid Vicious are unknowingly giving their last interview together. It is hosted by Bonnie Simmons on California radio station KSAN. While discussing new material and that he would like to cum in Simmon's mouth, Sid sites a NEW song "about God" (the night before Steve and Paul also discussed a new tune called "Show Us Your Big Tits"). However, no new material from the Sex Pistols (Johnny Rotten, Steve Jones, Paul Cook [and most unlikely, anyway] Glen Matlock or Sid Vicious) was ever recorded. Because hours after wanting to cum in Bonnie's mouth, the Sex Pistols split up for almost 20 years. A recording "about God" called "Religion" was released on John Lydon's 1st Public Image LTD LP with Johnny's voice, no music. After rapping up Malcolm McLaren's "Great Rock'n'Roll Swindle" film, under The Sex Pistols' banner, Steve Jones and Paul Cook formed The Professionals and issued a rare single B-Side titled "Action Man". It is the only instrumental the Proffessionals recorded during their brief career. "The Sermon" incorporates both recordings and a bass line intro from "Marching Men" off Glen Matlock's first Rich Kids LP. This mash up by Kip Cuthbert brings together all five original Pistols for what could have been the Sex Pistols most controversial release ever. Had it been issued by the Sex Pistols in 1978 it surely would have been another banned record for them. The Sex Pistols were far a head of their time in the 70's. A big shock to the world, and still are to certain degrees. The music of the 80's and beyond slowly tested the rough waters they swam when it was safe and still has not caught up to them. Pop songs became simpler and shorter refraining from the never ending "Hey Jude" chorus' endings. Disco was finally killed off and Heavy Metal became more streamlined and/or thrashier. Oh, and a guy named Billy Idol scored a few hits with a squeaky clean spikey haired watered down Sid Vicious image. How nasty. This completes Rock'n'Roll's "Holy Trinity" Elvis, Beatles & Sex Pistols...that was it. Nothing else happened after in rock music, rock style or rock attitude, just decades of Rapper's Delight sung over and over again and a depressed guy who blew his own head off in the 90's. This song with it's blasphemist words and blistering guitar is a must hear. BTW Sid emphasizes the word "Attack", a song title also on the first Public Image Limited LP. "Public Image" the most Pistoly sounding PIL's song ever, was written at this time as well and would have made an awsome Sex Pistols track.
